Financial Controller
10 yearsJob Description : FC NIGERIA Qualified CA with 10+ years of experience in a corporate set up. Age bracket- 30 to 36 years. Responsibilities · The controller is broadly in charge of the company’s financial accounting- a strong record-keeping experience that ensures that the company’s books are in order. · Maintain and manage General Ledger according to defined accounting principles, strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP. · Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition and provisions of expenses. · Intercompany and group reconciliations. · Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and detailed schedules. · Lead month-end and year-end close process · Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting in timely manner and high degree of accuracy. · Must be capable to prepare annual budgets, tax planning, finalization of annual accounts, liaise with internal/ external auditors, & revenue authorities. · Lead Taxation and compliances. · Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and plans. · Prepare monthly MIS, timely preparation of month end Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet and management notes and group reporting pack. · He is responsible for not only reporting forecasts and variances but also utilize that data to advise management on decisions such as how to improve performance, minimize risk or capture new opportunities from both within the company and within the external environment · Custodian of key business process adherences and drive continuous improvements · Lead projects for cost optimization and working capital improvement. · Lead a team of F&A Ideal Candidate · Qualified CA with strong experience in managing the finance and accounts in the manufacturing and trading set up in AFRICA / INDIA. · Advanced degree in Accounting · Proven working experience as a Financial Controller/ Finance Manager in a mid-sized reputed group in Africa or a reputed company in India. · Strong understanding of Foreign Currency · 5+ years of overall combined accounting and reporting experience · 3 to 4 years MIS experience · Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures · Excellent accounting software user and administration skills · A self-starter with an eye to detail. · Strong communication skills both written and verbal. · Prior experience of managing a team is preferred.
