10 yearsJob Description : Commercial DirectorLocation: Seychelles for DIAGEO L4Reports To: Managing Director Context/Scope The Seychelles alcohol market is primarily focused on the Off-Trade channel, with a small number of dedicated RTC distributors spread across the three main islands delivering to small and medium size modern and traditional retail outlets. On-Trade accounts for circa 10% of the business focused on bars, restaurants and hotels. The SBL business is broken down as follows : Beer contributes >50% of top-line NSV, CSD’s delivers approx. 35% and the remainder is split between Spirits and Single Serve. Our market share position is strong and improving, however there is still huge opportunity for us to grow the business and improve our competitive position. Role Purpose; The purpose of the role is to bring our Sales & Commercial capability in Seychelles to a world class standard, and to deliver breakthrough business performance through effective customer management and cross functional ways of working. The role will be accountable, along with the Marketing Director, for delivery of the total SBL business plan including addressing any challenges & shortfalls. In short, this role is tasked to ensure we win in the market, now and in the future, with an inspired, motivated and equipped team capable of exceeding all goals asked of it. Top Accountabilities · Make a significant contribution to the overarching strategy for Seychelles Breweries Ltd., leading the organisation both within and outside the functional area · Motivate the sales organisation behind a clear, simple and powerful trade strategy, building strong and supportive trade relationships at senior and industry level · Drive the highest standards of execution throughout the business and own the functional unit · Obtain and apply facts and data to drive excellence in planning, decision making and performance measurement · Establish and maintain excellence in the areas of customer, shopper and category insight, resulting in powerful and breakthrough activations that motivate the organization to exceed goals · Recruit, develop, retain and lead the Sales and Commercial team to ensure superb execution of plans · Foster outstanding collaboration and build relationships both within and outside Diageo Qualifications Qualifications and Experience Required · Graduate or equivalent qualification ideally in a business related Field Experience · Minimum 10 years’ experience gained across commercial and other functions – cross functional experience an advantage. · Exposure across different channels and different levels of customer sophistication (eg. National Accounts, Key Accounts and Field Sales) · Track record of success in highly demanding sales organizations and ideally in alcohol (although not a prerequisite for the ideal candidate) · Leadership of teams operating in multi-channeled settings · Experience of making strategic choices, evaluating alternatives, balancing short and long-term issues, and living with the consequences · Strong knowledge & demonstrated delivery in challenging trading environments, understanding of channel, pricing, negotiations and strategy development · Exposure to and track record of resolving difficult situations · Negotiation and conflict resolution · Broad functional / cross functional experience, in particular experience in Customer Marketing or other parts of Marketing.
