Job Description : COO WEST AFRICA FOR STEEL PLANT 20+ years experience The ideal candidate will be a mechanical/metallurgical engineering graduate with 20+ years of experience in heading the operations of an integrated steel plant with outstanding success track record. He will be expected to lead the profit center heads of the subsidiaries in all disciplines of business as well as advise the board on ways and means to accomplish it's aspirations of growth. Some of the focus areas would be: Looking after all aspects &operations for the plant and local market including department Heads for Production, Quality, Purchase, Sales, Finance and HR team for all production, maintenance, quality control and safety activities and sales. The Major responsibility would be of handling Sales, Marketing, business development, & Plant Operations. Monitoring the daily activities at the plant including all operations and process. Understanding design and implementation of new product lines and ensure seamless integration Ensuring ISO audit & implementation quality standard certification Implementing best technology and practices for the strategic business unit. Excellent understanding of Steel manufacturing / process / and knowledge of machines and capabilities Developing strategies to increase productivity and optimise costs including operational excellence measures like Six Sigma, Kaizen and TPM Optimizing productivity for producing quality steel at the most competitive operating cost. Coordinating with Planning and Marketing departments to track customer forecasts and draw production plan so as to derive the necessary resources requirements as per production schedule and optimization of materials. Facilitating interdepartmental coordination with Engineering, QA, HR, Stores, Purchase, Marketing and Maintenance to address day-to-day cross functional issues Coordinating maintenance and repairs to ensure a safe working environment Reviewing the overall performance and identifying training necessities of all personnel Ensuring all legal requirements, company safety procedures, and local and state health and safety regulations are met leading overall operational excellence in Production / Logistics / Sales / Marketing with KPI management Leading finance team with the creation and understanding of financial documents and presenting the same to CEO. Creation of the overall Business budget with P&L Responsibility of delivering profitable growth ensuring compliance on all statutory matters related to company.BE + MBA
