Engineering Head

Job Description : ENGINEERING HEAD UGANDA FOR PHARMA PLANT Job Purpose: • Developing, implementing and tracking of capital projects, equipment maintenance, process development, and the oversight of facility and utilities to ensure a safe and compliant plant for the manufacturing of quality products. • Standardizing the plant facilities and systems to align with global facility and equipment standards. • Establishing a behavioral based safety culture and leads employees and management to implement and execute safety culture. • Support Plant Engineering capability development if required. Responsibilities: • Responsible for overall planning, personnel management and budget planning of engineering department. • Organize and coordinate relevant departments to finish the emergency maintenance of all the equipment in the pharmaceutical factory. • Develop preventive maintenance system of equipment and facilities; organize and supervise employees to implement preventive maintenance work. • Authorize and manage maintenance system, calibration system, demands of documents and drawings in the department; responsible for contract management of the department and ensure the quality requirements of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) are met. • Organize preparation work of audit in engineering department; support the work of the internal and external audit (such as GMP auditing, etc.); track rectification found items. Requisite skills: • Bachelor’s degree or Master degree of Engineering. MBA (preferable) • At least +10 years experiences of engineering in pharmaceutical industry, including at least 7 years in supervisory and management positions. • Wide range of knowledge and experiences of engineering project management, building and building service, life cycle management of facility and equipment • Have in depth engineering knowledge of electrical, mechanical, automation, building construction, building service (HVAC/utility), IT and so on. • Have basic knowledge of pharmaceutical production processes like Blow Fill Seal (BFS) manufacturing/ filling, inspection and packaging. • Understand GMP requirements (local and global) • Use lean and Six Sigma practices to eliminate non-value-added activity to drive maximum operational efficiency.
