The CFO is a key member of the management team and works closely with the President to enhance operational and financial KPI’s that support company growth. In addition, the CFO will establish the financial reporting framework designed to support the strategic vision of the group of companies and participate in identifying new business opportunities and managing the relationships to success. The CFO will be have an entrepreneurial mindset and know how to mitigate risk and evaluate the potential opportunities through data driven analytics. Responsibilities: · Trusted advisor to the President and Executive team · Collaborate with management team in key organization decisions and business objectives · Manage the execution and delivery of all internal and external reporting · Monitor and analyze monthly operational results against forecast/budget for all divisions · Accountability of the organizations financial integrity including budgeting, forecasting, reporting; ensuring proper controls and processes are followed · Perform variance analysis to determine the financial situation of the business to identify opportunities and areas of improvement · Prepare a comprehensive monthly reporting package for all ventures within Kelland Ventures · Lead, motivate and direct a team of professional staff who are committed to providing accurate and timely finance information · Support the President in the evaluation, financial modeling and due diligence related to mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures · Understands and mitigates key elements of the company’s risk profile · Takes an active role in understanding the various business divisions to exercise due diligence on the team’s financial management practices · Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, bankers, auditors, colleagues and employees Skills & Qualifications: · CPA designation; in good standing · 8-10 years in a leadership role as CFO and 20+ years total in finance · Excellent communication with strong oral/written skills and a willingness to share information · Understanding of key business drivers and fundamentals with a track record of delivering results and enhancing company values · Impeccable sense of integrity and flexible character with proven ability to work proficiently with a diverse group of personalities · Collaborative approach, strong team leader and partner to the business · Ability to recognize and communicate opportunities for efficiencies and implement new processes · Experience in a multiple business line environment with construction or real estate development an asset This role will also appeal to a determined, tactical minded and tenacious individual who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and understand what drives an entrepreneurial business.
