Job Description : MANAGER GLOBAL COMMODITY – FMCG OUT OF NORTH INDIA Reports to: Global Commodity Director - The role will operate in a complex matrix of global category leaders, business stakeholders and suppliers representatives Job Purpose: - To lead, manage and develop a team of professional sourcing staff, located in country of responsibility to ensure effective performance of Procurement teams in the scope of responsibility - To create and ensure input to and alignment with global sourcing strategies, representing the needs of sites and supply markets - To identify and deliver business benefits aligned to assurance of supply, quality, service, cost and innovation and delivering stakeholders and business partner requirements through creation and execution of category strategies - To drive operational efficiencies by ensuring Contract & Preferred Supplier list compliance as well as managing the Tail spend - To deliver effective budgets agreed with key stakeholders and Finance in accordance with the Spend Management Framework and aligned to the global budgets Key Responsibilities: - Global sourcing of strategic commodities namely Glycerine, Citric Acid and other derived products with annual global spend of c- 40m GBP, across Consumer & Pharma supply chain Strategy Development - Lead the development, management and implementation of comprehensive strategies on a global, basis in alignment with company and Procurement to deliver agreed savings targets and other benefits that significantly impact financial results. - Develop supply strategies that deliver business requirements across assurance of supply, quality, regulatory, service, cost and innovation - Lead cross functional sourcing teams with joint accountability for technical and quality performance through strategy development and implementation. Strategy Implementation - Implement initiatives and programs to improve quality of bought-in goods and services and reduce lead times Supplier Relationship Management - Lead, develop and manage the supply base for end to end supply chain providing supply of high quality and competitively priced materials and services, to meet company requirements. - Lead strategic relationships with critical suppliers providing secure and cost-effective sources for relevant commodities. Risk Management - Lead development of Risk Mitigation strategies to ensure security of supply. - Lead implementation of risk management strategies for the mitigation of risk associated with goods and services in assigned area of responsibility. Stakeholder engagement - Represent category on relevant strategy development and supply chain planning forums - Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders; agree business requirements General - Ensure regulatory compliance through the appropriate strategy creation. - Provide best in class cost - Coach and mentor to maximise team and individual performance - Sharing of best practice across category team and Production Procurement - Continuous improvement of process and performance within a category team and related supply base Role dimensions - Reports to Director level in Procurement organization - Operates globally across multiple global sites - Category complexity is high - Supply market complexity is high - Seniority of supplier interface is high - The role needs to possess an adequate level of advance problem solving capabilities as well as the ability to triage and prioritize daily issues as they arise. The ability to solve problem independently with limited information available to make decisions and interpretations. Ability to anticipates medium to long term future issues . - The role is required to understand the support structure available to assist with challenges and issues and to be able to tap into that support structure. A solid sense of - urgency- evaluation is also required when problem solving. Understanding the need to escalate appropriately will be key. - The ability to identify evaluate and progress local and regional disruptive technologies is critical. - The role will be required to interact internally with key stakeholders, collaboratively across Procurement and externally to the supply base. Influencing skills is a core capability for this role and will be required with interactions across Finance, internal stakeholders, legal, and within Procurement. The role will represent the face of global procurement within the Business unit and Hub and should possess excellent written and oral communication skills. - The role will be required to interact internally with key stakeholders, collaboratively across Procurement and externally to the supply base. Influencing skills is a core capability for this role and will be required with interactions across Finance, internal stakeholders, legal, and within Procurement. The role will represent the face of global procurement within the Business unit and should possess excellent written and oral communication skills. - The role will be responsible for delivering global savings to the business aligned with requested target objectives at the beginning of each year. In addition the role will need to identify/ anticipate risk and establish regional risk mitigation plans aligned with sourcing services across the globe. And lastly to create performance dashboards as a way to communicate to the business on impact.
