Job Description : FC CANADA an internationally renowned commercial services organization that is amidst a rapid growth phase. We are partnering with them to find a Financial Controller to be based in their HQ in the North of Toronto, but with the responsibility to oversee the business and finance globally. The Financial Controller will report to the CFO and will have a team of two direct reports. The ideal candidate should have a very strong technical accounting background, experience working in a multinational company and interacting with the C-Level, and experience with either SAP or Oracle. Also, Spanish skills and public accounting experience would be a good nice to have. • Business profitability • Financial risk identification, mitigation and management • Company financial health • Cash management, financial reporting and financial advice • Fiscal policy and compliance • Statutory compliance Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing appropriate policies and procedures Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls and manage information Manage, direct and organize the work of the accounting and finance department • Oversee business policies and accounting practices • Comply with legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising the Board of Directors on needed actions • Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting internal audits • Coordinate and oversee annual financial audit by liaising with legal, audit, and tax advisors to ensure statutory financial obligations are met • Maintain the integrity of the financials with appropriate financial risk management • Manage IBC budget process and budgets for each functional area • Assure the availability (and efficient disbursement) of funds for projects which support the strategy as appropriate Develop and maintain strong relationships with shareholders, strategic partners, and international financial institutions Review and manage Letters of Credit • Assess the principal financial risks of the Company and ensure that these risks are monitored and managed • University degree in a relevant business discipline; postgraduate degree is desirable • Professional accounting qualification (CPA or international equivalent) • Ideally possess 10+ years of experience in progressive finance roles • Industry expertise within manufacturing, mining or environmental services is preferred • Spanish language skills would be highly desirable.
