Country Manager

Job Description : COUNTRY MANAGER ROC a UK listed entity developing a major potash project in the Republic of Congo (RoC). The role is based in the delightful coastal city of Pointe-Noire. Whilst the company maintains productive stakeholder relationships and has the support of its community, the development of sustainable relationships with the local community and the broader group of RoC stakeholders has not yet been undertaken in a systematic manner aligned with the company’s and stakeholder governance expectations. The role’s purpose is to develop, obtain approval for, and implement the stakeholder engagement /management strategies required to deliver positive sustainable relationships that will enable successful financing, construction and operation of the Project. You will be accountable for: · Development and implementation of an approved RoC stakeholder strategy; · Development and implementation of an approved Company branding strategy within the RoC; · Management of the delivery and maintenance of RoC licences and approvals required for the business; · Creation of an effective and capable country management organisation; · Implementation of company policy and recommendation of RoC specific policies that may be required; · Fulfilment of the DG role for local subsidiary companies. To be considered you will need to be experienced in the development and maintenance of strong, effective stakeholder relationships within remote site and/or or developing country environments. You must be fluent both orally and in writing in both French and English languages. You may have experience in similar corporate roles or you might equally be experienced in diplomatic roles. You will be an accountable, values-driven person who delivers, while upholding the highest standards of corporate governance and personal integrity.
