Project and Engineering Manager

Job Description : PROJECT AND ENGINEERING MANAGER MALAYSIA FOR FMCG FMCG and production company to be based in Penang. Reporting directly to Engineering Director, you will be tasked with developing the engineering strategies to ensure the continuous growth of the company and for future expansion plans. About the Project and Engineering Manager (FMCG) Role: The role of the Project and Engineering Manager (FMCG) is to oversee change and project management in a manufacturing plant based in Penang. This role requires exceptional cross-functional communication and cooperation to ensure involvement of all key functions and communication and reporting to key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: · Oversee the allocation and management of the CAPEX budget and ensures all projects meet the organisation’s safety, food safety, legal compliance in accordance to the organisation’s policies and procedures · Ensure excellent execution of capital projects, product and packaging change projects and new product development and commercialisation · Develop the annual capital budget for the manufacturing plant · Oversee the introduction of new technologies into the manufacturing facilities to support innovation · Support capacity expansion projects to ensure sales plan can be met · Ensure the organisation’s engineering standards are applied for all capital projects · Develop project engineering, project management and PCM capabilities within the organisation and close out gaps if and when they occur · Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and fully meet project deliverables · Ensure project management organisations are put in place at the start of projects to ensure effective project delivery and plant ownership of projects at completion · Ensure effective project management practices are in place including design reviews, risk assessments, contractor inductions, post project closeouts, etc. · Manage an operational team (motivation, skill improvement, training) and offer each employee personal development opportunities To succeed in the Project and Engineering Manager (FMCG) job, you will need to previous experiences in CAPEX project initiations and management. Key Requirements: · Tertiary qualifications in mechanical/electrical engineering or a related field of study · Minimum of 10 years’ project management experience within the manufacturing environment · Prior CAPEX project management experience within brownfield plant expansions is highly preferred · Experience in FMCG is an advantage · Detailed with excellent problem-solving skills, proactive, a good team player and able to meet tight deadlines · Ability to multitask and prioritise workload while delivering high accuracy/quality work · Possess good leadership, skill and able to lead consultant team to accomplish given assignments · Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills · Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, good leadership and highly motivated
