Operations Manager

Job Description : QUARRY OPERATIONS MANAGER NIGERIA As Quarry Operations Manager managing a team of around 50, one will be responsible for managing the site, supervising operational staff and 3rd party contractors, co-ordinating engineering works and overseeing all production activity. One will be responsible for the welfare of employees, fostering employee engagement and driving and maintaining industry-leading health and safety standards. Industry: Building and Construction Nationality: Open Salary: Lucrative package (TBD) Job Description Setting up of new sites for road work crushing; Manage the drilling and blasting on various sites; Examining the materials produced to ensure that a high quality of product is maintained Making sure that quarries, pits and opencast sites operate successfully; Coordinate production and monitor all site systems Construction of roads, excavations, formations, sub-soils drainage, layers to surfacing. One will be responsible for drilling, blasting, crushing process, supervise/monitor the maintenance of the equipment Blasting & Crushing reports Risk assessments and health and safety inspections. Ensuring compliance with company and legislative standards. Procurement and budgetary control. Co-ordinating all aspects of day-to-day operations through the supervisors and teams of operators Quarry health and safety Carry out health and safety inspections for the site Carry out and record safety briefings Ensuring all staff and contractors of the site are fully inducted and comply with quarry rules All daily checks Minimum Requirements Relevant Diploma/Degree proven track record of running quarries efficiently and effectively to meet production targets Comprehensive understanding of quarry regulations Solid experience in road projects and construction (10yrs +) International experience within Africa would be highly advantageous and preferred.
