Job Description : General Manager – Construction Chemicals Manufacturer Dubai, UAE Ref: DM/15876 The Company Digby Morris' client is the subsidiary organisation of a highly respected and broadly diversified conglomerate with vested interests in construction, real estate, Oil & Gas as well as other associated industries. The company is a relatively new addition to the group's portfolio, but is already established as a leading manufacturer of high quality chemical formulations for the construction sector operating from new certified state-of-art facilities. The business manufactures over 100 chemical products for various applications in the construction sector serving clients across the GCC. The Business Unit • Brand new manufacturing facility • Current production capacity is around 20k tons of powder products and 3 million gallons of liquid products, per year. • Turnover, 1st year is around AED 30m • Main customers &/or clients, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas and General Construction industries. The Role The owners intend to appoint a GM who is capable of taking this business unit to the next level of growth and expansion, not only in terms of revenue and market share, but also in terms of production capacity. Overall responsibility will include: • Liaise and network on a senior level with "clients" and owners • Overseeing daily business operations & improving production levels to meet growth demands by developing and implementing growth strategies. • Creating and managing budgets, analysing financial data including knowledge of payment types e.g. Letters of Credit, Risk Assessment, Business Planning & Forecasting. • Evaluating performance and productivity • Researching and identifying growth opportunities, deal making and closing, an eye for opportunities and converting them to deals. • Cultural awareness, adequate understanding of conducting business in the Gulf Region • Identifying clients and sourcing of key suppliers • Direct & manage all relations with all suppliers and ensure compliance with quality and production benchmarks. The Candidate • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Construction/Chemical Engineering with at least 10 years of management experience in the Construction Chemicals industry. • Good knowledge of different business functions • Strong Managerial & leadership qualities with strong work ethic. • Excellent communication skills, preferably bilingual (Arabic /English) • Good interpersonal skills, proactive nature.
