Material Manager

Job Description : MATERIALS MANAGER MALAYSIA A Materials Manager job has just become available at one of the most respected manufacturing and production firms based in Penang. Reporting directly to the Operation Manager, this is a role for supply chain managers who can drive supply chain team to achieve continuous improvement in key materials metrics and provides exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders. About the Materials Manager Role: Due to excellent results and future expansion plans, the Materials Manager will play a key role in the production, procurement and supply chain development and success. Key Responsibilities: · Oversee the whole supply chain activity in the plant which covers procurement, materials planning, production planning, logistics and warehouse · Lead a group of professional analysts in purchasing, sourcing, inventory control, planning, and configuration management support · Lead and administrate the materials analysis teams for a site · Supervise the data management process · Lead cross-functional assignments and projects · Work with site management to develop organisational objectives · Manage business analytics to determine optimum company footprints · Drive change management in supply chain, cost reduction initiatives and process improvements · May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned The successful candidate must possess a strong knowledge and experiences in supply chain management, a minimum of 10 years in supply chain with five years of managerial experience. Key Requirements: · Bachelor's degree in materials logistics management or business administration or equivalent; MBA is preferred but not required · APICS/NAPM certification preferred but not required · SAP background is an added advantage · Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry · Strong financial and analytical abilities · Strong knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes as well as global customs regimes · Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programmes
