Finance Controller

Job Description : FC SINGAPORE Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be an integral member of the Accounting and Finance organisation. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely closing of business transactions, reporting and compliance with US GAAP requirements for reporting purposes, as well as driving excellence and efficiency around key accounting processes and controls. You will also be a key point of contact with the region’s shared service centres in China and Malaysia, and will work closely with them to ensure that transactional processing and related activities produce accounting information that is in accordance with the above objectives. Key Responsibilities: · Ensure that monthly, quarterly and year end reporting to Asia management and HQ is timely and performed with a high degree of accuracy · Ensure compliance with HQ’s policies and procedures, US GAAP and local statutory accounting requirements · With the focus on growth in the Singapore market, be a strong business partner to key stakeholders and senior management · Ensure that appropriate internal controls over financial reporting are implemented and operating effectively · Establish a strong and cordial collaboration with other functions to support business. Work as one team towards achieving the overall finance goals and financial reporting objective · Identify opportunities to streamline and standardise business processes without compromising effectiveness of internal controls and quality of work product · Manage day-to-day operations of the finance and functional department including treasury management and liaison with banks, company secretary matters, etc. · Take charge of managing the preparation of the year end statutory accounts, legal and tax compliance · Work closely with the consultant to ensure proper expense and other KPI tracking in order to meet the EDB requirements on submission of progress report · Other ad hoc assignments or duties as required, e.g. new brand integration, SAP enhancement, etc. To succeed in this Financial Controller role, you will need to have prior Big 4 experience and experience working in a retail/trading/manufacturing MNC. Key Requirements: · Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related subjects · Minimum of eight years' of relevant experience (preferably in an MNC in the wholesale/retail/trading industry), with at least three years' supervisory experience. Minimum of three years' experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm is preferred · High proficiency in Microsoft applications tools, specifically Excel · Experience with SAP and internal controls compliance is preferred · Competency requirements: Lead change, drive operational excellence and deep Functional knowledge; meticulous with excellent attention to detail and accuracy with ability to meet deadlines · Communication, stakeholder management, problem solving and decision making · Fluency in written and verbal English and preferably also in Mandarin or Cantonese due to working with mandarin speaking counterparts
