Job Description : GM COMMERCIAL SOUTHERN AFRICA a global company providing analytical services to the mining industry, is seeking a General Manager Commercial to join their team. They will provide leadership and oversight of commercial activities ensuring discipline in processes. Create commercial systems, documents and processes aligned with their path of growth and geographic expansion. Provide strategic guidance to the accounting and finance function. They will be reporting to the CEO. Responsibilities: Contracts – Bidding: · Efficient and effective contract bidding process · Liaison with legal · Prepare proposal & agreement templates · Rise & fall development · Preparation of Financial Models and guidance to the regional teams during input · Aggregation and reporting of bid / contract pipeline Contracts – Management: · Management of R&F implementation and margin management over contract life · Scope monitoring and variation management · Ensure effective contract lifecycle management: maximise ‘Roll-over’ potential Contracts – Performance: · To assess post event, based on Financial, Scope, Resources Accounting and Finance Strategy: · Provide oversight of Accounting and Finance processes and develop a strategic plan for this function to grow in capability that parallels the business needs Pricing: · Oversight of Pricing Architecture and Strategy · Competitor behavior analysis and response · Pricing Management – Lists, discount structures, discipline · Margin Management – Input cost trends and response · Input for LIMS and ERP integration Franchises: · Review and update Franchise Model to improve internal and external understanding · Agreement Template & Negotiation assistance · Lifecycle management including Pricing, Rise and Fall · Performance Reporting Joint Venture’s: · Development of Commercial Structures · Assist Regional GM with negotiation New Country Entry: · To assist Regional GM & Finance with process Miscellaneous – Liaise with Legal: · Asset Lease Agreement review · Development / review of Non-Disclosure Agreements · Oversight of Global Supply Agreements: including Chrysos, LIMS Requirements: Qualification and Skill · Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role · Diploma or Degree in Business, Accounting or Management · Contract Management experience · Extensive Commercial / Contract experience for both Supply and Purchase · Business Development and Entrepreneurial skills · Ability to influence people at all levels · Strong negotiation skills · Excellent accounting / financial analytical skills · Strong communication skills (verbal and written) · Experience with ERP systems · Strong Microsoft office skills Benefits and Contractual information: · Can work remotely · Permanent position
