Logistics Head

Job Description : LOGISTICS MANAGER NIGERIA 1.To assist supply chain Head in planning movement of bulk transport through railways. It requires handling of movement of 6.00 lakh tons of Sulphur, 1.80 lakh tons of Coal and about 6 lac tons of Phosphoric acid 2. To manage Rail /truck operations and maintenance in order to ensure maximum operational efficiency and timely delivery of acid Roles and Responsibilities 1. Manage rail transportation and logistics as per the set plan and within defined budgets. Track loading of railways on daily basis as per the set daily requirement. 2. Prepare plans for locomotive maintenance and develop annual preventive maintenance schedule in order to ensure availability of locomotives for movement of acid at all times 3. Oversee maintenance of Companys railway tracks, wagons and trucks. Also liaise with the railway authorities and provide them and support in maintenance of tracks 4. Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimisation opportunities for logistics operations 5. Follow up with different railway offices to move the railways if it is stabled at any station. 6. Monitor transit status of rail and locomotives and communicate the status to all concerned stakeholders on daily basis. 7. Ensure development of plan for procurement of spares for Company`s locomotive, coordinate with the commercial team for identification and finalization of spare parts provider 8. Overhauling and Assembling of Two stroke & Four Stroke Diesel Engines. 9. Subassemblies reconditioning & installations - like Fuel Injection pump, Injectors, Centrifugal/ Positive displacement pumps, Blowers, Compressors, Heat Exchangers like Radiators/ Lube oil coolers/ Intercoolers/ After coolers, Turbo superchargers, Brake Rigging, Engine Load Testing, Fault Diagnosing. 10. Under gearing Wheel profile scheduling 11. Documentation, IM System & SMPs. 12. Trip maintenance scheduling & Overhauling Bogies. 13. Subassemblies reconditioning & installations Bogies, Air brake system, Distributors, brake cylinders, Pivots, suspension beams, Transmission screw coupling units, break barrel cylinder bars, cut out cocks, break pipe hoses. 14. Coordinate with the plant, port and commercial team for resolving all kinds of railway /truck operations related issues. 15. Preparation of Raw Material planning and scheduling. 16. Ensure all team members comply with safety, environment statutory regulations, implementation of work as per guidelines and SOPs defined. Monitor any deviations and implement corrective actions 17. Coach and mentor to motivate team members, assess performance periodically, continuously provide feedback to team members and promote a high performance working environment embracing the values of the Company Desired Candidate Profile Qualification : Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 12-15 years experience · Masters Degree in Supply Chain Management Experience 12-15 years of relevant experience as Maintenance Manager /Logistics Manager especially in rail & track logistics and maintenance Relationship Management
