Job Description : CFO SOUTH AFRICA The role requires a strong and experienced CFO with large company experience ideally in financial services. You will need to be highly strategic and commercial with a sound technical understanding. You will need strong leadership skills to develop and manage large teams Responsibilities: • Direct and coordinate financial strategy, policy, practices and activities in order to ensure implementation of long-term business strategy and to enhance financial and operational efficiencies of the business. • Direct and coordinate all credit strategy, policy and practices in order to achieve business strategic objectives and to enhance long term credit performance and operational efficiencies • Direct and coordinate all business intelligence, business insights and innovations and all business optimisation strategies, to gain valuable insights to business data, processes and analytics to enhance business decision making and performance and profitability. • To provide operational leadership to the internal audit function in order to enable the team to provide operational assurance • Achieving this through: o Monitor strategic and operational implementation of the functions through the direct reports taking corrective action when necessary o Ensuring functional productivity is optimised and objectives are achieved o Foster external relationships to ensure contractual and strategic objectives are met o Determine, develop and align industry leading practices to the business to ensure competitive edge o Ensuring all stakeholders understand financial, credit and functional strategies • Sound reliable financial reporting in a timeous, accurate and simple format: monthly, quarterly and annually. Achieved through: o Effectively manage the operations of the finance department to ensure operational efficiencies that support strategic objectives Requirements: Qualification and Skill • Minimum qualification is CA • 10 -15 years experience heading up the Finance Division of a large company. • Experience in financial services preferable. • Directed and coordinated all divisional financial strategy, policy, practices and activities in order to ensure implementation of long term corporate strategy and to enhance financial and operational efficiencies of the business • Has provided sound reliable financial reporting in a timeous, accurate and simple format: monthly, quarterly and annually • Has implement appropriate cash management tools to measure and reduce company borrowings and structure appropriate facilities • Has developed a cohesive and motivated financial team • Vertical integrated business and commercial understanding.
