Mill Manager
15 yearsJob Description : MILL MANAGER KENYA You are responsible to managing all production resources including raw material, supporting material, machines & equipment, personnel and energy at mill section, batching section and packing section to be efficient and effective. Running and supervising production process according to standard operating procedures to ensure the flour and by product produced are consistence, meet the quality standard of safety, product quality, cost, quantity, on time delivery, with maximum extraction. Must be well versed with milling machinery including Buhler. · Planning, controlling, evaluating the operation of the mill according to production target and schedule provided. · Ensuring the Wheat supplies, supporting material, machines and equipment ready to use and meet the quality standard following HACCP · Controlling and evaluating the wheat grist and batching formulation provided by formulator. · Managing the grain silos by maintaining the quality of the grains and accountability for the grain therein. · Planning, controlling and evaluating the wheat cleaning and conditioning process and setting parameter of cleaning and conditioning process according to targeted wheat and flour moisture target, standard tempering time and targeted capacity. · Planning and controlling and evaluating wheat milling process and provide setting and adjustment parameter of the mill according standard milling parameter to achieve optimum extraction, with minimum cost and meet the consistent targeted flour quality. · Monitoring stock level of wheat and flour inventory level to achieve targeted stock discrepancy · Responsible for preventive maintenance, diagnosis and repair of all pieces of equipment within the mill including: milling line; building (inside construction) and facility grounds. · Responsible for maintaining the equipments productivity to minimize downtime or malfunctions. Some tasks are required to be performed within rigid time frames to maximize processing. · Ensures all work areas are clean, safe, and follows company GMPs and well-versed in OSHA/ISO · Planning, controlling and evaluating preventive and autonomous maintenance program and coordinating with engineering department to ensure all the machines and equipment is ready to use in standard performance with minimum downtime · Planning and evaluating hygiene and sanitation program coordinating with sanitation manager within mill, batching and packing area to meet the sanitation standard · Planning, controlling, monitoring and evaluating implementation of quality procedure in mill, batching and packing area to meet the quality standard certification · Identifying, planning, controlling and evaluating resourcing and personnel development program in mill, batching and packing area. · Facilitating development of staff competencies through internal or external training and on the job training. · Maintains accurate and timely records of work performed on work orders, maintenance calls, and preventative maintenance reports. · Provides emergency repairs quickly and efficiently. · Plan in advance the list of spare parts needed for the unit. · Train the other technicians, artisans and line workers in the unit. · Planning, allocating, controlling, and evaluating all the production cost related to operation of mill, batching and packing area. · Planning, controlling and evaluating the production consumables including fast moving spare part and ensuring efficient usage. Desired Candidate Profile Minimum Requirements · Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Diploma in Milling/Mechanical/Electrical with minimum 15 years of experience in similar field which includes 10 years in wheat milling. · Previous experience in similar grain milling line and facilities at a large commercial mill is mandatory. · Must have experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic aspect of the complete mill processing line. · Experience in Baking is an added advantage. · Hands on work experience in other similar equipment maintenance of industrial, manufacturing or production-line equipment may substitute. · Ability to work in a high temperature environment supporting fast paced machinery. · Ability to quickly learn new job tasks and flexibility to work in different jobs as needed. · Must be able to work any day, including holidays, or any shift. · Must have hand on experience working with Buhler Milling Machines. · Must have reliable attendance to meet employers attendance standards for 24/7 production facility. · Adherence to company core values. Other requirements: A good team leader, strong analysis skill, able operating MS office, and skill in enterprise resource planning (ERP) system will be an advantage.
