Job Description : MECHANICAL ENGINEER NIGERIA PP AND PDH Bachelor of Engineering-Mechanical, from a reputed institute Minimum Experience required 13 to 15 Years in Mechanical field associated with Petrochemical / Fertilizer / Refinery sector, of which at least 5 years should be in a Cracker or Propane Dehydrogenation [PDH] Unit Candidates should have worked in any mega project, from the Engineering phase to its Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning and in the Operation & Maintenance phase later Knowledge & Skills required Good knowledge of various engineering standards and codes Should possess in-depth knowledge with regard to overhauling & trouble shooting of various Static as well as Rotary Equipment in Refinery / Petrochemical / Fertilizer Unit: Different types of Compressors, Turbines, Pumps, Filters, Dryers, Reactor systems, Distillation Columns, Refrigeration packages / Cold Box, Turbo-expanders, Heat Exchangers, Furnaces, Piping systems & components, etc Knowledge of various inspection as well as quality check procedures In-depth understanding of Engineering Documents like P&ID, Material Selection Drawings, Equipment Datasheets / GA Drawings / Equipment Detail Drawings & Specifications, Vendor / OEM documents, 3D Model reviews Participation in HAZOP, Process Hazard Analysis, 3D Model review, etc Good understanding of PSM and Workplace safety standards Hands-on experience in all modules of ERP / EAM, Mechanical Integrity & Quality Assurance elements, Turnaround Planning & Management Exposure to CAD software, Project planning & management software, etc Good knowledge of Quality / Safety / Environment Management systems Demonstrates good analytical and trouble shooting skills Good Vendor management & Contractor management skills Possesses good written and verbal communication skills Job Profile Candidate shall work in the ongoing greenfield Propane Dehydrogenation [PDH] & PP Project Shall be responsible for all the Mechanical aspects during the Engineering phase of the project Review all Engineering Documents like P&ID, Material Selection Drawings, Equipment Datasheets / GA Drawings / Equipment Detailed Drawings & Specifications, Vendor / OEM documents, 3D Model reviews, etc. and resolve all issues in coordination with the engineering contractor. Prepare Equipment Inspection checklists for various phases including Factory Inspection, Site installation, Equipment hook up to process piping, etc Coordinate and conduct pre-inspection meetings with various Vendors & OEMs Certify Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at vendor shop & Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) of various Equipment as conforming to the equipment data sheets and the relevant project standards Coordination with Engineering Contractor/ Construction contractor / Vendors/ OEM for project queries and their resolution, for scheduling and for delivery of equipment. Inspection of various construction activities performed by construction contractor like Equipment field installation, Process hook-up, etc. as per the approved engineering documents Co-ordination with construction contractor for Loop checks, Test Pack certification, Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities Liaising with Electrical, Instrumentation, Operations & Piping for Interface activities. Coordinate with OEM for MRT / Load Test / Performance tests of compressors and pumps Monitoring Progress of Job Planned vs. Actual at each phase of the project and flag critical hold points Participate in various Pre Start-up Safety Reviews and take actions for close out all audit points Post Pre-commissioning and Commissioning activities, Candidate shall migrate to Plant Operations Shall independently handle all the planning and execution of Preventive Maintenance, Condition Monitoring, as well as any Breakdown Maintenance, Spares and Inventory management, Budget Planning, etc Raise Purchase Requisitions, as required, per equipment datasheet / specifications and upon receipt, inspect and certify for use Shall be responsible for Turnaround planning and its management Shall ensure that all safety standards and procedures are followed during job execution Preparation of Standard Maintenance Procedures and Checklists for all equipment Render training to local and expat staff, as required Develop a team to work independently
