Instrumentation Engineer

Job Description : INSTRUMENT ENGINEER NIGERIA PP AND PDH Bachelor of Engineering-Instrumentation & Control / Electronics, from a reputed institute Minimum Experience required 13 to 15 Years in Instrumentation field associated with Petrochemical / Fertilizer / Refinery sector Candidates should have worked in any mega project, from the Engineering phase to its Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning and in the Operation & Maintenance phase later Knowledge & Skills required Good knowledge of various engineering standards and codes Should possess in-depth knowledge of the following: Instruments used for the measurement of various process parameters Flow, Pressure, Temperature, Levels, Density, Dew Point, Composition (GCs, Mass spectrometers, O2/CO/NOx analyser, Sulphur analyser, etc.) Various type of Valves used for control as well as shutdown functions, Nucleonic devices for level control, Tank gauging systems, F&G Devices, etc Area Classification, Control Narratives, PID controls, Hazop and SIL study & review CCTV, PA Systems, Instrument – Electrical Interfaces Hands on experience in various control systems – DCS Systems (Yokogawa / Honeywell), Safety Instrumented Systems (Yokogawa Prosafe-RS/ Triconex), Machine Monitoring System (Emerson/ Bently Nevada), Woodward ITCC system & Anti-surge controls for Compressors, PLCs (Siemens/ Allen-Bradley/ ABB), F&G systems, etc. In-depth understanding of Engineering Documents like P&ID, Cause & Effect, Instrument Index & Datasheets, System IO List, Logic Diagram, System Configuration Diagram, Control narratives, Instrument plot plan, Cable schedule, Cable tray layout, JB Wiring diagram, Instrument Process hook up drawing, Pneumatic hook up drawing, Various vendor documents etc.. Participation in HAZOP, Process Hazard Analysis, 3D Model review, etc Good understanding of PSM and Workplace safety standards Hands-on experience in all modules of ERP / EAM and Turnaround Planning & Management Good knowledge of Quality / Safety / Environment Management systems Demonstrates good analytical and trouble shooting skills Good Vendor management & Contractor management skills Possesses good written and verbal communication skills Job Profile Candidate shall work in the ongoing greenfield Propane Dehydrogenation [PDH] & PP Project Shall be responsible for all the Instrumentation and Control related aspects during the Engineering phase of the project Review all Engineering Documents like Engineering Documents like P&ID, Cause & Effect, Instrument Index & Datasheets, System IO List, Logic Diagram, System Configuration Diagram, Control narratives, Instrument plot plan, Cable schedule, Cable tray layout, JB Wiring diagram, Instrument Process hook up drawing, Pneumatic hook up drawing, Various vendor documents etc. Prepare Equipment Inspection checklists for various phases including Factory Inspection, Site installation, Equipment hook up to process pipings, Instrument tubing & cabling, etc Coordinate and conduct pre-inspection meetings with various Vendors & OEMs Certify Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at vendor shop & Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) of various Equipment / Instruments as conforming totheir data sheets and the relevant project standards Coordination with Engineering Contractor/ Construction contractor / Vendors/ OEM for project queries and their resolution, for scheduling and for delivery of equipment Inspection of various construction activities performed by construction contractor like Cable laying, Cable tray installation, Junction box installation, Wiring and termination, Field Instrument installation, Process hook-up and tubing installation, Field analyser installation etc. as per the approved engineering documents. Co-ordination with construction contractor for Loop checks, Test Pack certification, as well as Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities Supervise the Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities of various Field Instruments, including their calibration and loop checking, etc Liaising with Electrical, Mechanical, Operations & Piping for Interface activities Co-ordination with construction contractor for Instrument Installation, Calibration, Loop checks, Logic checks. Supervise the Installation, Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning of all Control Room Equipment, IO Rack Room Equipment, Analyzer Houses, CCTV system, PA system, F&G system, etc. Monitoring Progress of Job Planned vs. Actual at each phase of the project and flag critical hold points Participate in various Pre Start-up Safety Reviews and take actions for close out all audit points Post Pre-commissioning and Commissioning activities, Candidate shall migrate to Plant Operations Shall independently handle all the planning and execution of Preventive Maintenance as well as any Breakdown Maintenance, Spares and Inventory management, Budget Planning, etc Shall be responsible for Turnaround planning and its management Shall ensure that all safety standards and procedures are followed during job execution Preparation of Standard Maintenance Procedures and Checklists for all equipment / instruments Render training to local and expat staff, as required Develop a team to work independently
