Procurement Manager

Job Description : GRAINS PROCUREMENT MANAGER UAE This is an outstanding opportunity and the candidate would be responsible for leading the global grains souring & procurement activities for the group specifically for wheat, corn, barley in line with overall business objectives and generate a competitive advantage through an optimized supplier base. Responsibilities · 50%: Source, negotiate all contracts. Develop Market Intelligence. · Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations to establish purchasing strategies and contracts. · Understanding of futures markets and ability to hedge on the same. 20%: Develop long range purchasing plans and strategies using a proactive approach. · Utilise SnD analysis to understand and position books correctly in the market. · Manage and aggressively identify opportunities to optimize and mitigate risk within the supply chain. · 20%: Collaborate closely with Operations, Supply Chain and Sales on risks and costs evolution associated with all key functions, in order to optimize pricing and contribution margin. · 10%: Responsible for aligning overall team resources to execute against short term and long-term strategies and meeting strategic sourcing and location/plant/BU objectives. · Provides overall guidance and procurement work expertise to the team. Accountable for talent development, succession planning and engagement of team. · Adherence to the company’s HSE Policy. · Understand, reflect & practice the company’s vision & values. · KPI’s - Mark to Market Procurement Efficiencies, Flour Sale Margin hedging results, Procurement and Logistics Planning Requirements & Skills · 10 - 12+ years’ experience in agri commodity trading, merchandising. · Up to 20% travel – to conferences, supplier events and locations. · Strong negotiation skills and ability to leverage purchasing opportunities across a large and complex organization. · Technical knowledge and experience purchasing and / or selling commodities · World Commodity Trading - Supply and Demand Knowledge, Options and Futures Use for derivatives hedging. · Global Origination experience such as; EU, Black Sea, USA, Canada · Maritime Logistics knowledge, spreads between large and small vessels. Trade Flows and their seasonality · Manage all related documentation, awareness of piracy and nuances across countries and regions. · Auditing & Negotiating Skills · Driving Results, Ownership and Accountability · Graduate in Agriculture related discipline. MBA Preferred.
