10 yearsJob Description : SENIOR EXPORT PLANNER WEST AFRICA FOR MINING an International mining company is looking for an Senior Export Planner to join their operation in West Africa. The Senior Export Planner will ensure compliance of all Marine, Haulage & River Terminal operations within safe and effective procedures, planning, reporting and investigation writing. Reporting to the Export Manager. Responsibilities: · Daily planning, scheduling, and reporting of the export corridor from Haul truck loading, River Terminal Coaster loading to the Marine/Transhipment location(s). This should include close liaison with the River Terminal,Haulage and Transhipment Supts to ensure accurate scheduling and efficiency. · Performance management of Export Operations including barge scheduling, daily and monthly reporting plus fleet maintenance planning. · Mentoring and professional development of all staff towards international standards. · Liaison with contractors and agencies to ensure speedy completion of associated documentation. · Ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, objectives and regulations and the commitment to achieving Zero Harm through safe behaviours. · Ensure compliance with relevant HR policies, procedures, objectives, and regulations through appropriate behaviours. · Assist with Root cause failure analysis, and CI development. · Use Company business systems to the level required of a supervisor. · Must always be open to suggestions from his team as to anything which advances toward continuous improvement in the workplace · Accountable for carrying out duties in a manner that will minimize risk and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel within area of influence including contractors. · Development of the Computer Maintenance Management System. Inputting of PM schedules and operating spares reorder quantity and levels. This will require an in depth understand of all equipment related Export, Marine and Hauling equipment. · Update and maintain maintenance records and documents. Input data and information into the computerized Maintenance Management System. · Keep abreast of weekly and monthly maintenance KPI reports. · Assist with annual budget development and cost control. · Scheduling of planned maintenance activities for mobile fleet, marine, fixed plant and all support services. · Compile data to present informative reports on key point indicators, costs, equipment availability, man hours, attendance, critical spares, backlog work, downtime analysis, pm compliance. · Attend weekly scheduling meetings and the daily maintenance meeting to have a knowledge of planned and ad-hoc activities scheduled within the period · Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed safety goals in support of the department, site and company safety requirements. Requirements: Qualifications and Skills · Desirable – Recognised Logistics and/or marine industry qualifications. · Fifteen years of relevant supervisory experience within the marine industry. Mining logistics, transport scheduling or barging operations experience very useful. · Proven leadership skills and contract management. · Fluent written and spoken English. · Ability to communicate very well within a multicultural company, ranging from senior management and colleagues to local dignitaries and workers as both individuals and as groups. · Experience of operating in remote sites and developing countries · MS Office: Advanced Level · IT systems: Advanced ERP systems.
