Job Description : COO MALAYSIA An exciting Chief Operating Officer job has just become available at a well-established retail company based in Petaling Jaya. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide leadership, management, and analytical capability to ensure full operational efficiency. About the Chief Operating Officer Role: The Chief Operating Officer is a key role in the growth agenda of the business. You will assist the CEO in driving growth, direct short and long-term planning and budget development to support the strategic business goal while maintaining a dominant position in the market. You will be required to partner the Sales Director and Marketing Director in decision support on how to allocate resources to drive the best outcome on revenue and profitability. Key Responsibilities: · P&L management including planning, reporting and recommendations on pricing, trade investment, store profitability, advertising and promotion investments to drive customer demand · Review processes and propose initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of workflows and business processes · Influence operational excellence and collaboration across all levels · Provide direction in execution and deliver guidance for complex operational issues · Review and control budget, financial performance, revenue growth, expenses, cost and margin · Monthly, quarterly and annual financial goals management · Support CEO in site selection with landlords/property developers to secure the most financially feasible location in accordance with targets in expansion plan and profitability objectives · Review sales projection and profitability on proposed outlets, reinvestment, lease renewal to ensure business goals are achieved · To assist CEO to formulate market strategy and business plans · To implement and operationalise business strategies · Second in command regarding high level initiatives and decision making · Develop and maintain collaborative relationships among the diverse internal & external stakeholders · Articulate operational goals, strategies and issues in a persuasive manner To succeed in this Chief Operating Officer role, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior members of the organisation, across borders and internal matrix. Key Requirements: · Bachelor's degree or master’s in a relevant discipline and with at least Minimum 15 years of extensive experience within the retail industry including at least five years in a senior management or executive role, with proven track record in optimising business strategies as well as leading and inspiring sizeable teams within a fast-paced environment · Excellent leadership skills and the ability to effectively lead a team of senior management of multiple disciplines · Strategic thinking and result-driven · Strong business acumen and negotiation skills · Stakeholder management and authority liaison skills · Superior decision making, communication and influencing skills with high levels of emotional intelligence · Ability to identify potential issues and resolve issues and crises · Sharp intellect and well-developed analytical and critical reasoning skills · Commercially astute and highly strategic with management experience to lead and inspire a sizeable team in a fast pace competitive environment · Strong financially with excellent budgetary, forecasting and future planning skills · High degree of initiative, drive, resilience, as well as result-focused in a fast-paced environment · Strong self-awareness with ability to integrate own leadership style into an environment with a strong existing culture and identity · Proven ability to bridge and cultivate cooperative working relationships · Readiness to roll-up-the-sleeves when required and lead from the front
