Job Description : PRESIDENT MANUFACTURING INDIA A leading Chemical organization in the Southern region Responsibilities: Oerations & Technology Formulate & implement effective strategies and ensure optimum use of resources with a view to increase productivity Provide leadership to the core manufacturing and operation activities to meet organizational & stakeholder objective Drive Manufacturing excellence initiatives, set strategic agenda for the overall Manufacturing unit and review progress against the strategic goals Develop and implement strategy for plant debottlenecks to achieve efficient production Driving the Manufacturing unit efficiently and ensuring timely and cost effective supply of products Spearhead strategic expansions and growth plans for projects as and when required Drive cross functional teams for process improvement Sourcing, evaluating & developing technology, development of project control framework and management of processes, procedures, systems and resources Steering implementation of new technology changes & up-gradation of equipment Lead technology & engineering discussions with various project consultants Ensure compliance to all regulatory, statutory and quality standard requirements at the plant Planning and Strategizing Plan and monitor with Unit heads the day-to-day running of units to ensure smooth progress Plan, develop and oversee implementation of strategies for meeting targets for the Manufacturing Units and also drive efficiency Lead the Annual Business Planning process for Manufacturing Unit in line with company strategy and targets Implementation and Review Be instrumental in preparation of annual / quarterly running budgets, continuous comparison of the results with the budget, analyze variances and implement operational improvements Present periodical reports on the performance of the Manufacturing Units to the CEO Oversee and ensure the execution of the manufacturing plans based on product mix in line with requirements of business from time to time Champion continuous process improvement initiatives across the Manufacturing Units by driving Initiatives like Safety Capacity Building, WCM, TMP, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S and QMS in the plants Ensuring 100% compliance for the sites Coordination and Interface Regular interaction with internal stake holders and the Board to ensure that the Manufacturing Units are in right direction to meet business targets and budgets Interact with relevant agencies and maintain a healthy and conducive atmosphere that is favorable to the business and organization Interface with other site functions to ensure that reliability and safety of operations is maintained and the production targets are met Team Management Disseminate culture and values across the multiple plants in line with the group's culture and values Manage performance of all direct reports, support capability building and ensure that individual and team morale & motivation is positive Candidate Profile: B.E. /B. Tech in Chemical Engineering with 25+ years of work experience in Chemicals / Specialty Chemicals / Agrochemicals / Fertilizer/ Petrochemical companies A Mechanical Engineer could also be considered provided the incumbent comes with requisite skill set defined for the role Preferred age would be in between 45 – 55 years Experience of managing operations of a continuous process plant is a must Experience in managing manufacturing operations for multiple plants / multiple sites with sizeable employee strength An incumbent currently working as a Site Head but has the competence to take on a role as a Manufacturing Head for multiple plants can also be looked at Hands on experience on Manufacturing Operations and Process Technologies Thorough knowledge on various Process Equipment’s ranging from reactors, pumps, valves, process controls systems, distillation columns, rotating and stationery equipment. Proficient with Indian laws and regulations with regards to the Equipment’s and various environmental issues Exposure to interacting with government bodies/ statutory authorities Sound knowledge on global equipment manufacturers and suppliers Proven ability to build, sustain and influence relationships at all levels of an organization Strong planning, negotiation and decision-making skills Updated understanding of the industry, market, competition and customers Strong systems and process orientation and high degree of alignment with quality & safety standards Proven ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast paced environment Ability to lead and inspire people in adopting world-class business practices and achieve manufacturing excellence Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and foster good relations Ability to build a trustworthy and transparent work environment through open communication and feedback
