10 yearsJob Description : GM UAE one of the largest privately owned conglomerates in the UAE, owning and operating a number of multi-disciplinary subsidiaries across the country. Since inception in the 1980’s their companies have catered to various business sectors through a wide range of products, services and solutions including Contracting, FM, Chemicals, Building supplies etc. The Role Owing to a recent retirement the group is looking for a General Manager to take over the running of a Pump Manufacturing business and factory: An ISO 9001, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 certified manufacturer and supplier of centrifugal water, waste water pumps & customized control panels in across the UAE and wider GCC. It is involved with the design, assembly, manufacturing, testing, commissioning & servicing of centrifugal pumps and engineered control panels. The company is a local pioneer in establishing an advanced pump performance testing facility for surface and submersible pumps employing a diverse and expert team of professionals experienced in the pump industry. The factory is equipped to manufacture booster pump sets, end suction, split case, dewatering, fire pumps and customized control panels for a diversified range of applications. Main Competences:- · Dedicated production lines with modern assembly tools · State-of-the-art pump test facility · Service, repair, maintenance & overhaul of pumps · Control panel assembly & testing · Static & dynamic balancing · Impeller trimming · Fabrication · Machining · Painting The Role Responsible for the general business management of then plant, which include: · Liaise and network on a senior level with "clients" and owners · Overseeing daily business operations & improving production levels to meet growth demands by developing and implementing growth strategies. · Creating and managing budgets, analyzing financial data including knowledge of payment types e.g. Letters of Credit, Risk Assessment, Business Planning & Forecasting. · Evaluating performance and productivity · Researching and identifying growth opportunities, deal making and closing, an eye for opportunities and converting them to deals. · Cultural awareness, adequate understanding of conducting business in the Gulf Region · Identifying clients and sourcing of key suppliers · Direct & manage all relations with all suppliers and ensure compliance with quality and production benchmarks. · Overall In-charge of the factory Business Unit with full profit and loss responsibility. Manage all the operations, staff, budgets, formulating Business growth plan, sales strategy and establishing policies. · Overseeing the company's business operations, financial performance, Balance sheet, Cash Flow, investments, and ventures. · Oversee daily operations of the Factory as a business unit. · Global Supply Chain Development. · Oversee key hiring and talent development programs. The intention is that the owners or developers intend to appoint a GM who would take this business unit to the next level of growth and expansion, not only in terms of revenue and market share, but also in terms of production capacity. The Candidate · Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with at least 10 years of management experience in the pump industry or similar business areas (Valves, HVAC etc). · Good knowledge of different business functions · Strong Managerial & leadership qualities with strong work ethic. · Excellent communication skills, preferably bilingual (Arabic /English) · Good interpersonal skills, proactive nature. The Business Unit · A new manufacturing unit, 1-3 years old · Current products are (Child Water, Boosters and Dewatering) Pumps and Control Panels. · Total headcount is 30 employees · Turnover is around 10 million AED · Main customer are infrastructure, Construction and Oil & Gas Companies. The Package · Generous Total Monthly salary includes Basic Salary.
