Job Description : PROCUREMENT HEAD KENYA FOR FMCG MANUFACTURING 10-15 years experience Department: Procurement (work Experience in African countries will be preferred). Reports to: Finance Director Direct Reports: Procurement Assistant PURPOSE: The Procurement Manager will be responsible for the strategy, management and coordination of the procurement activities, upholding and enhancing policy, controls, procedures, systems and reporting, together with ensuring an efficient structure to drive value benefits to the organization. The Procurement Manager will also be required to provide sound business leadership, with timely proactive decision making and advice that enables the business units to effectively and efficiently operate. The procurement manager will also establish and operate efficient and effective Supply Chain Management and Procurement Processes necessary to maximize profit margins and ensure that organization meets its delivery commitments, to implement best practices, strategic sourcing principles, ensuring the objectives achieves optimum best added value from a sustainable supply chain through demand, relationship and performance and contract management. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Procurement Manager's key focus areas are as follows: - Strategy Development and Implementation - Inventory Management - Supply Chain Management - Continuous Improvement - Stakeholder Management - People Management and Development KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategy Development and Implementation: - Providing group procurement oversight and strategic development of systems, staff structures and offshore purchasing opportunities. - Implementing procurement planning for all plant requirements for effective vendor management. - Implementing Supply Chain strategies. - Designing or implementing supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies. - Ensuring implementation of Supply Chain best practices for Demand & Supply Planning, Customer Service, Material Handling and Purchasing. - Spearheading strategic relationships with both raw materials suppliers and contract manufacturers.
