General Manager 
20 yearsJob Description : GM HSE OMAN Construction Industry is hiring for the position of General Manager -HSE Purpose of the job: Accountable for overall ownership, management and administration of the HSE department and associated activities governing HSE management standards and systems, across all company projects and businesses. Responsible to develop a safety conscious culture within the organization and must be the true face of the organization’s Health & Safety philosophy. Responsible to ensure productivity targets, financial objectives & KPIs as set are achieved and that all HSE processes are running smoothly and promptly. Key Responsibilities & Activities: 1. Accountable for development and execution of all Health & Safety plans for all projects and business units within the group namely Construction, Supply & Installation, Services and in line with organizational strategy, international standards (ISO, OSHA etc), statutory requirements 2. Accountable for all internal and external HSE audit programs, remedial actions and non-conformity management, ensuring seamless documentation and knowledge sharing through Intelex and other management information systems 3. Accountable for deployment of resources & processes for investigations in cases of violation of HSE standards and ensuring that gaps are resolved through appropriate corrective actions 4. Responsible for departmental financial objectives by preparing annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances, initiating corrective actions 5. Responsible for all departmental productivity targets, KPIs and attainment thereof. Other tasks: 1. Promoting the company Values, Code of Conduct and associated policies 2. Participating and providing positive contribution to technical, commercial, planning, safety and quality performance of the organization and in accordance with Client, Contractual, regulatory requirements 3. Visiting Sites and Project locations to discuss operational aspects 4. Developing deep understanding of the local market; including knowledge of competitors, clients and/or contractors, relative market positions etc 5. Undertaking any other responsibilities as directed and mutually agreed with the Line Management. Educational Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in the field of safety, environment or engineering · Master’s degree (preferred) Professional Certifications: · Certification from recognized HSE institution (CSP, NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, IEMA etc) · Business Management (preferred) Skills: · A proven work experience as a Senior Manager HSE and head of department – HSE · Familiarity with latest HSE oriented trends in the industry. Knowledge of best practices · Strong writing and record keeping abilities. strong IT skills strong communication, planning & organizing skills · Exceptional leadership skills ability to lead and transform the HSE department ability to garner Management support and confidence. Experience: · 6 years position specific experience · 20 years overall professional experience Language: · English (fluent) · Arabic (preferred)
