Chief Financial Officer

Job Description : CFO AUSTRALIA WATSON GROUP Reporting into the Group General Manager and based in Canberra, ACT, you will take the primary role in managing and communicating the financial position of the Group. You'll be expected and encouraged to take an active role in business operations, from working with the wider Executive Leadership, visiting key sites and harnessing broader commercial outcomes to drive quality growth within the Group. The CFO will lead a small but dedicated team and also liaise with the Board regularly. Join a family owned and operated business on the cusp of explosive growth and investment. As the Chief Financial Officer in this nationally recognised manufacturer and multi-channel retailer, you will have autonomy and trust to make decisions and implement your own strategies in the role to influence broader company direction. You will be responsible for financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reports, company audits, compliance, and bank relationships. You will collaborate with the CEO and the ELT (including owners) to make decisions regarding company's financial strategy and operations. The candidate will possess a strong background in finance and management. Responsibilities · Create and present financial and tax strategy recommendations to Business Owners/GM. · Support the financial planning and analysis efforts. · Oversee cash flow, cash management, working capital, and company audits. · Prepare financial statements and reports. · Ensure legal compliance on all financial functions. · Manage relationships with banks. · Establish and oversee a team of Accounts professionals, covering operational matters in AR/AP and Procurement. Requirements · CA or CPA Qualified with 18+ years of finance experience. · Range of experiences but you would certainly require strong commercial experience with a foundation of accounting from the practice environment. · Extensive experience managing a finance team and a demonstrable ability to partner with the CEO and the Executive team and contribute to Group strategy. · The CFO will also bring a hands on approach to both the finance function and the wider commercial operational aspects of the business. · The CFO will also be a flexible and adaptable character, with a proven ability to work in a dynamic and mission driven environment and curiosity to grow their remit. · Watson Group are open to the applicant looking to secure their first CFO role, transitioning from a senior Finance role.
