Job Description : LOGISTICS AND OPERATIONS MANAGER GHANA 10+ years experience Roles and Responsibilities Typical work activities · Responsible for managing the entire logistics operation of the company including importation, custom clearance and unloading of goods as well as overseeing the pick and pack of orders and deliveries to customers. · The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, import, customs documentation and customer delivery issues. · Analyse and report on the financial impact of current and proposed logistics changes such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes and mixes and carriers. · You will work to continuously improve all logistics functions for the business. · You will manage a team of dedicated warehouse operatives as well as a team of area managers Desired Candidate Profile · You should have industry experience with warehousing and distribution, with prior hands on experience and also have the ability to give insights from a technical, IT and accounting perspective. · The successful candidate should have previous experience in a similar role managing import/ and domestic logistics operations with a proven track record of cost control/ reduction and customer service level improvement. · Used to working in a high pressured, seasonal environment and successfully meeting tight deadlines. · Previous experience using various ERP systems · Experience in the health and beauty or FMCG industry desirable · Experience working in Africa desirable Competencies and personal attributes: · Comprehensive knowledge of logistical procedures and processes including importation, custom clearance, etc · Able to initiate and develop positive business relationships · Proven negotiation skills · Project management skills · Able to create and correctly use reports to identify areas of challenge/ improvement · Numeric and able to demonstrate an understanding of basic accountancy · Excellent accuracy and attention to detail · Able to deal with changing and conflicting priorities effectively · Able to work well under pressure · Good communication skills · Flexible approach to work · Good commercial understanding
