Procurement Head

Job Description : Head Procurement (Raw Material, Commodities & Packaging Material) with one of the leading FMCG / Food (Manufacturing) Organisation for Punjab Location.. Incumbent should be PG from either Indian Institute of Materials Management OR MBA in Operations / Materials Management with 14+ Years in managing Raw materials specially commodities buying and management in Food Industries mainly Sugar, Refined Flour & Palm oil along with other products and packaging material.. - In line with Business strategy & vision to scale up the revenue and achieve sustainable profitable growth, development of strategic & tactical Procurement of Raw Materials & Commodities plan from immediate, mid-term and long term ROI perspective measured in terms of significant optimisation of manufacturing cost & COGS reduction besides increasing in the Gross margins through finalisation of new strategic vendors and leverage existing vendors of commodities for further negotiated cost of bulk raw materials such as Refined Flour, Sugar & Oil besides other key raw materials and Packaging Material Management. - Responsible for charting out long term strategy & plans to achieve sustainable optimisation of overall raw materials & commodities and packaging materials cost. - Strategize and manage the procurement of the key raw materials. - Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the material management operations. - Building the benchmark standards of inventory management system to plan and mitigate the short, mid and long term Business risks. - Build the robust system and SOPs with focus on achieving high quality and competitive cost optimised Raw Materials & Commodities and Packaging Materials. - Develop best in class vendor selection and management program. - Implement benchmark and world class commodities buying , hedging, inventory management and procurement system. - Identifies implements & continuously improves systems & processes in line with the changing environment and audits. - Collaborate with key team members like NPD & Quality, Marketing Head, Project Head & Operations Head (Running Units) to improve procurement processes capability. - Drive SAP Automation & transformation projects to create a cost efficient, agile and compliant procurement chain. - Leverage the spend and deliver annual savings through negotiations and innovative procurement strategies. - Builds capability for the in house audits and external audits of the suppliers and also ensures that the key suppliers are also maintaining the same standards of eco system and processes to have green audits. - Opening secondary channels to continue to reduce the risk in supply issue of any key raw material. - Proactively plan and ensure timely availability of material and release of vendor payment.
