Due to the incumbent seeking to return home from this expatriate assignment, the client is seeking to hire an industry professional for this key leadership role. The role of Operations Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is a member of the Senior Plant Management team and is responsible for operating the Plant to meet all set Operational and Commercial KPI’s. The Operations Manager must always be aware that people and plant are an integral part of every operational decision. By consistent words and actions, the Operations Manager must be a credible role model and set challenging goals with clear output expectations. High standards of performance must be established and reinforced for operators to effectively make decisions, act, and implement changes that contribute to safe and reliable operating practices. To succeed in the role, you will be degree qualified in Engineering and have a career profile which demonstrates that you have risen through the ranks in Operations moving through Control Room Operator, Unit Panel Operator, Shift Manager (Operations), Operations Support etc. roles. Also, that you have had a relatively stable career progression where you have lived/experienced the positives and negatives of your decisions over the course of time. Also, we seek: · At least 10 + years of full-time, experience in the operation of thermal-electric generation equipment preferably coal fired power plant with at least 5 years in a supervisory role. · A working knowledge of Environmental Regulations as they pertain to the Operation and Maintenance of a coal fired power plant. · Effective verbal and written Communications Skills.
