Regional Business Controller

Job Description : REGIONAL BUSINESS CONTROLLER ONTORIA CANADAI high tech family company with over 600 employees is looking to advance and professionalize its business control. This is an excellent opportunity for the driven professional with affinity for finance, commerce and data, looking to take his/her next step. Your key responsibility will be to develop a partnership with the Regional Director Americas (located in California US) and the different offices throughout the region to continue to develop the Horticulture and Indoor markets. Apart from the sales and service organizations in the three offices, there is a Fulfilment hub, part of the larger Canadian office, that serves the different offices, partners and customers in the region. 20+ years experience out of which 5 year of relevant experience as a Business Controller; University diploma majoring in finance or business administration (finance); You want to continue to develop yourself ad a Business Controller and are looking to share your vision and ideas on modern business practices in daily operations. You are independent and very capable to switch between topics and ways of working. You easily build rapport with the different colleagues within the region and across the board from the logistics to the Regional Director Americas and the Global Manager Finance and IT; Key Responsibilities: You make yourself available for the business and make sure that you are accessible and easy to connect to for any financial questions/concerns; You provide, based on your insights, opinion and through supporting reports, the relevant information concerning the business to determine its performance and on which decisions/adjustments/strategies can be based You provide detailed insight and pre and post calculations of various commercial project and discuss the outcome with the relevant business unit. You assist your business partners with professionalizing and stream lining the various processes. This through optimizing IT related processes and new developments. You are able to pinpoint and share process improvements and optimizations; Together with the Regional Director you will assist in determining the (commercial) year-on-year regional budget as well as updating rolling forecast in accordance with the strategic targets; You translate reporting concerns to the Business control team in the Netherlands and work on continuous improvement of the financial processes. You assist the financial controllers in the individual offices with financial concerns and assist in coordinating legal aspects of the business units. You will assist the business partners and Regional Director by assisting with a broad range of topics geared towards further professionalization of the region and corresponding offices. You will share your insights, opinions and supportive arguments based on the business and the strategic targets set. You will be part of the local Management team in Canada and bring in your financial expertise.
