Plant Operations Director

Job Description : PLANT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR ETHIOPIA FOR WILMAR Prepare, directs, coordinates, controls and manages the factory's short, medium- and long-term strategic plans in accordance with the industry best standard and Wilmar International strategies. Directs and leads the overall soap and detergent, maintenance and projects. Duties and Responsibilities •Prepare, directs, coordinates, controls and manages the factory's short, medium and long-term strategic plans in accordance with the industry best standard and Wilmar International strategies. • Plan and ensures that the required resource (Raw material, pallet, human resource, packaging materials, energy/power, water etc..) is available to run the operation smoothly. • Plan, direct, coordinate and oversee periodical and day to day production of home care (Largo liquid detergent, Ajax Dish wash, Ajax Window cleaner and Ajax Scouring powder), personal care (Diva multipurpose soap, ROL powder detergent) and laundry care (Tiffany) soaps and detergents. • Plan new projects and run repair and maintenance and expansion projects of the company and report the progress continuously. • Directs routine and non-routine maintenance and repair of machineries, factory facilities, office facilities, accessories, fuel tank accessories and equipment • Ensure all products are in line with the standards and requirements of Ethiopian standard Agency. • Make sure all productions are in line with environment regulations and maintain the health and safety of employees. • Study and procure additional machineries, accessories and facilities. Ensure there is enough stock for breakdown maintenance. • Coaches, groom and train staffs. Properly administer employee issues and work towards creating conducive working condition to the employee. •Attend weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual meeting, prepare periodical reports and submit reports. • Maximize capacity utilization of the machines and ensure maximum equipment efficiency. • Define KPIs and monitor performance on daily, weekly and monthly basis. • Observe Wilmar International standards, polices and procedure and enforce strict implementation by the Subordinates. Working Relationships • Works with Supply chain to ensure availability of raw material, packaging material, pallet and warehouse • Works with Sales & Distribution to get production need and ensure product movement • Works with HR department to ensure availability of enough human resource • Works with EHS on safety rule and regulations monitoring and enforcement • Works with Technical Director to get Support on any technical issues above and beyond the capacity of Repi Technic team. • Works with government agencies, regulators, industry leaders to enhance competitiveness of the company Qualification Requirements • MSC Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical/Electro-Mechanical or related field of study with 10 Years of experience in FMCG industry. • BSC Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical/Electro-Mechanical or related field of study with 12 Years of experience in FMCG industry. • Minimum of three years’ experience as a Director or equivalent capacity. • Experience in Soap & Detergent is advantageous. • Strategic thinker and ability to interpret business goals in to measurable KPIs • Ability to work under pressure • Experience in Multinational companies (MNC) is advantageous • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources) • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
