Group Legal Manager

Job Description : Group Legal Manager - Nigeria Qualification & Experience: LLB/ LLM. CS qualified professionals will be preferred. Should have over 20 years of experience of which, 3 to 4 years should be in a leadership/Independent head of any Corporate Organization. Should have in-depth knowledge of handling land disputes, trade disputes, debt recoveries in corporate FMCG businesses and Real Estate companies. Should be able to co-ordinate board meetings & draw minutes etc. Must have exposure to the West African working environment. Exposure to Nigeria will be an added advantage. Role/ Function: Handling all litigations end to end, initiating legal action for debt recovery, coordination with company lawyers are key deliverables of this role. Role Objective : This position is accountable for: · End to end handling of legal issues pertaining to any of the Group of companies. · Coordinate all on-going Legal cases and maintain status reports and do follow up on a regular basis with the concerned Lawyers. · Keep track of court hearing dates and get updates after every hearing and to appraise management. · Advise Management/ give legal opinion on any issues when sought. · Coordinate board meetings, draw minutes and maintain records.
