Job Description : ENGINEERING MANAGER NIGERIA 25+ years experience · Identify sources of GHG emission from existing & upcoming projects and devise technological solutions for emission reduction · Lead & coordinate as a Subject Matter Expert the process for design, engineering, procurement & implementation of such technological solutions · Work closely with multiple internal (projects & operations teams) & external (standards & regulatory agencies) parties to develop a strategy to maximize carbon credit potential for the Corporate Group · Track Carbon Credits associated with the ongoing and upcoming projects · Proactively manage project milestone delivery, identify potential obstacles and issues, devise contingency plans, and engage stakeholders at necessary decision points · Responsible for preparation of project documentations for climate change mitigation · Development of appropriate monitoring plan for the climate change mitigation and coordinating with third party auditing agencies during the course of validation and verification of carbon offsets · Support the functions of Carbon Credits Trading (Sale & Purchase); Carbon Credits Development; Carbon Advisory & Consultancy Services; Nature Based Solutions Desired Candidate Profile · Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology degree with post graduate degree or diploma with specialization in Environmental Engineering. An MBA would be an added advantage as an additional qualification though not essential · 10+ years of relevant experience in Carbon Credit Industry as technical subject matter expert · Carbon Credit process experience (advanced knowledge) - Prior experience, at least one time, of end-to-end full cycle implementation is essential · Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to innovate and creatively solve complex problems · Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams to take an idea from concept to commercialization · Experience with interpreting and following regulations for emissions monitoring · Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities · Desirable to have a successful and profitable track record on a Carbon Credit trading desk The Corporate Group is building a new Carbon Credits Measurement & Trading mechanism in accordance with the new government policy and recent global developments. The Manager Engineering Carbon Credits will focus on maximizing the companys carbon credit potential resulting from the reduction of emission of GHGs from its upstream, midstream & downstream operations. The responsibility will further involve leading new processes and product developments for both near-term and long-term growth opportunities.
