Senior Planning Engineer

Job Description : Sr. Planning Engineer" for Qatar Location with 20-25+ years of experience. Job Description: § Promote established policy and objectives throughout the department to increase awareness, motivation and involvement. § Ensure focus on customer requirements throughout the department. § Ensure that appropriate processes are implemented to enable requirements of customers and other interested parties to be fulfilled and objectives to be achieved. § Ensure that an effective and efficient quality/HSE management system is implemented and maintained in the department to achieve these objectives. § Review project scope and produce Project plans in outline and detail as required. Collect data related to man-hours, trade disciplines required and produce histograms, manpower utilization and schedules. § Liaise with Project Manager, Department heads, Superintendents, Supervisors and others as directed to gather progress information, bottlenecks delays, material shortages etc. to input into planning data. Report on the effects of changes, especially any negative changes to management. § Preparation of manpower forecast and issue monthly forecast versus actual reports. § Preparation / review of variations, extension of time (EOT) and claims to Client or from sub-contractor and put up for Management approval. § Attend all company planning meetings and client planning meetings as directed. § Lead other Planners and Quantity surveyors allotted under the project for meeting Project requirements. § Maintain accurate files of planning data both in hard copy and software. The Software to be used as directed but currently is Primavera, MS Project, Excel and Word. Project Management Cost § Monitor and control the costs of the Project Controls Department that may impact company’s financial stability. § Forecast and program the long-term and short-term budget of Project Controls Department requirements. Staffing § Manage Construction Operations staffing effectively to ensure continuity of its department’s business. § Capable to interview and select the right expertise for Project Controls Management Team. § Ensure the availability of all resources required to perform assigned tasks and activities. § Supervise subordinate staff, assign work activities, monitor performance and review results. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE A. Education Required (Qualification / Discipline): Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Course B. Experience Required (Years/ Job Level/ Industry): Must have minimum of 20+ years of solid work experience as Planning Engineer in EPC projects
