20 yearsJob Description : MD VIETNAM A unique Managing Director opportunity has arisen to become the Managing Director of a major port in the South of Vietnam. One and a half hours outside of Ho Chi Minh City Expats only The Managing Director Will take full responsibility of port operations, finances and human capital. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that the strategic development plan is managed in an effort to achieve short and long term performance and productivity goals set by the board Provide vision, motivation, and leadership to all personnel toward the achievement of the authority’s mission, strategy, and goals Develop business with shipping lines and manage the expansion Define budget and action plans that align with strategy and vision Oversee the implementation of digital transformation projects to maximise efficiency and productivity Act as the Key Advisor to Members of the Board of Directors: Establish long-range and tactical objectives in conjunction with the Board of Directors and brief members on issues of interest Network with all external stakeholders in forwarding the mission and goals of the organisation, build alliances, and develop community relationships To succeed in this role, you must be fluent in English. Key Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree with course work in law, planning, economics, and/or business Having experience in logistics, corporate business, governmental, environmental, real estate & development, maritime, and public policy is a plus Understanding Vietnam’s market and having experience working with local government is a plus. Possessing a thorough understanding of digital applications and software essential for a port is a plus. Being customer centric is critical It is preferred that the selected CEO/Executive Director possess unique expertise, including working knowledge of the following: Public sector service and commercially driven government operations Governmental regulations and operational issues regarding transportation and economic development activities within Massachusetts or a similar environment Public sector finance, budgeting, community, and economic development issues Fluent in English Having at least five years in port operation, of which two years in managing position An understanding that the assets are pieces among the many parts of a broad economic development and logistics network within Long An Province Knowledge of the logistics and port operation industry An awareness of the importance of relationship building with internal and external stakeholders(airlines, shipowners, shippers, local, state, federal government officials, law enforcement, community leaders, unions, business leaders) Prior experience interacting with the media Human capital management experience; exposure to union/labour negotiations Leadership and public presentation abilities; political astuteness Critical thinking and problem solving skills; integrity; Emotional intelligence Ability to travel and to interface with customers and industry personnel nationally
