Job Description : COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR BURMA a leading Myanmar based 3PL providing offering specialist FMCG Distribution / Cold Chain/ Retail / Wholesale / Route Distribution to Convenience, Retail / Wholesale sector customers throughout Myanmar. They seek an experienced Commerical Director with an extensive background in a leading a tier 1 3PL / Contract Logistics/warehousing and transport business in the cold chain/tier 1 retail/wholesale/convenience sectors. To manage and accelerate its business expansion our client is seeking to hire a Commercial Director to drive revenue and margin growth, build and enhance existing customer relationships and implement ABP commercial activities. The COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR will: • Lead and motivate the commercial team, ensuring budgeted resources are in place on time, implementing development and performance management programs and activities as directed/agreed. • Prepare and manage tender bids, target new business and manage existing client relationships to grow business organically to ensure revenue and margin targets are met. The COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR (CD) will work jointly and collaboratively with the finance, fleet and warehousing functions to achieve pricing and customer service levels to fit client’s needs and deliver both revenue and margin targets and target growth. • Actively prospect for new business for logistics services. The achievement of new business revenue targets and margins is a key result area for the role. New business acquisition plans will include identifying potential partners for collaboration within the logistics market to add value to our client’s existing portfolio of services. Partners may include but not be limited to 3PL providers, freight forwarders, cross border logistics providers and customs clearance agents. • Market and promote our client and its services lines to ensure that they are positioned as the Logistics Service provider of choice in Myanmar. • Identify and network with key industry stakeholders as agreed with the Managing Director. Foster and develop relationships with government bodies, peak bodies and other industry stakeholders. • Identify competitors and monitor competitor activities and pricing within the market for all logistics services. Provide formal reports and monitor activity monthly and quarterly. • Manage the preparation of, and present business reviews to existing and potential clients. Perform regular KPI reporting. • Work collaboratively with the Business and Strategy Analysis Manager to review, analyze data, track KPI and competitors to develop competitive offers and exploit opportunities. Target background: • B2B Sales and Commercial Leader with 5+ years’ experience in a senior commercial leadership role within logistics or with business solutions/equipment businesses/ related distribution business. A track record of success in the startup of new business territories and channels in MYANMAR is essential. Current Myanmar experience is preferred but candidates based in SE Asia with recent Myanmar market experience will be considered. • Candidates with an existing network of clients covering fmcg/ agriculture/ pharma/electronics supply chain network in Myanmar is highly desirable. • Burmese speaker is highly desirable. Non-Burmese speaking candidates with strong relevant SE Asian emerging market experience will be considered. • Mix of developed and emerging market experience well regarded. E.g. Thailand + other SE Asian country. • Tender management and project management exposure/experience with a sound financial understanding of margin and cost drivers are essential
