Workshop Manager

Job Description : WORKSHOP MANAGER SOUTH AFRICA experienced Reman Workshop Manager from an earthmoving equipment background to lead their workshop operations on site in Southern Africa. · Overseeing the workshop operations to ensure activities are carried out safely and according to required standards to achieve optimal production levels. · Ensuring compliance to group operating standards and procedures. · Ensuring work is carried out in line with weekly and monthly planning. · Continuous improvement initiatives. · Cost control and budgeting. · Identify and implement cost saving initiatives while ensuring quality is maintained. · Reduce outsourcing of machining and reliance on third party suppliers where possible. · Ensure ISO certification is maintained. · Mentoring and coaching or subordinates, with a focus on upskilling of the national workforce. · Maintain and improve customer relations. · Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Technology or similar qualification. · Professional registration / membership. · Grade 12 certificate. · 10 years’ previous experience in mobile heavy equipment workshops with at least 5 years at management level. · 5 years’ workshop management experience in a remanufacturing environment. · Computer literate. · Able to manage a culturally diverse team. · Previous experience as an expatriate in Southern Africa preferred. · Residential status role. · 2 year contract.
