General Manager 
20 yearsJob Description : GM ETHIOPIA FOR AUTO The General Manager (GM) reports directly to shareholders or their designee. Overall, the GM is responsible for all strategic, operational and day-to-day works of the Company as specified in its Memorandum of Association. Specific principal duties and responsibilities of the GM include the following: · Develop and implement company strategy subject to shareholders or their designees approval; · Plan, direct, coordinate and monitor all factory operations to successfully meet Company mission and goals; · Strive to improve production, quality, and labor, as well as, asset utilization in innovative way; · Create the management practices and culture that enable a high performing and effective executive team; · Ensure proper organizational development and personnel management including recruiting leadership team and other staff members, motivating and developing employees, defining and documenting the primary responsibilities for the leadership team and developing compensation arrangements; · Budget and manage factory cost structures by developing and maintaining operational expenses within budget allowance, and develop and implement cost-reduction and quality improvement measures; · Develop and implement (subject to shareholders approval) company policies, guidelines and procedures; · Ensure that operational and financial controls are in place to enable sound financial management practices; · Ensure equipment and machines are in good working order and, repair or replace plant equipment, as needed and timely; · Ensure all production orders are completed in a timely manner; · Analyze production data to proactively identify and resolve any production problems and issues; · Enforce health and safety protocols in the Company ; · Prepare periodic reports and submit to shareholders or their designee; · Ensure proper staff performance management system is put in place and evaluate performance of senior staff accountable to him periodically in line with Factory policy; and · Perform such other activities as may be directed by the shareholders or their designee. Qualifications: • A minimum of first degree or above in mechanical, automotive, industrial or similar engineering fields; • A minimum of 20 years, out of which 5 years in managerial position, service in automotive industry; • Proven team building, supervisory and leadership skills; • Excellent organizational and time management skills; • Good understanding of regulatory and safety requirements for operating automotive industry; • Exceptionally detail oriented, strong ability for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues, as well as, proactive problem solver; • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; • In good health condition to work long in a stressful condition and able to stand and walk around the factory/ production area for long period at a time; • In-depth knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources); and • Dedicated to achieving operational excellence with a genuine interest in the success of the factory. Preferred additional Qualifications: • Second degree in business administration (MBA) on top of engineering degree; • Basic computer literacy; and • Experience in international/global settings.
