General Manager

Job Description : GM ENGINEERING NIGERIA for one companys in Flexible Packaging. Location : Nigeria Position : Head of Engg. / GM Engg. GENERAL FUNCTION Set up and maintain all machines and equipments for whole plant. Establish the maintenance procedure and periodical maintenance plan. Managing spares procurement & inventory. Training of local engineers. Document all maintenance records .Guide all employee to work under clean and safe environment. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Installation and commissioning of all machines and equipment as per schedule. 2. Ensure all equipment and machine to be running under good condition. 3. Lead maintenance team to check machine and equipment status timely and properly. 4. Putting maintenance system in Place and set clear KPIs for the maintenance function. 5. Prepare the repair and maintenance budget for the plant. 6. Closely track the power and fuel utilization. 7. Training the electrical and maintenance technicians to carry out the maintenance activities in safe manner. 8. Establish & improve SOP, working instruction and maintenance plan. 9. Responsible for predictive and preventive maintenance plan for the site. 10. Responsible for machine safety and machine guarding. 11. To ensure the compliance for safety standards. 12. Conduct on-job training to all cross function department. 13. Responsible for documentation for audits both customer and internal, functional objectives and implementation. 14. Achieve goals by continuously improvement in maintenance function. 15. Responsible for advising Management on engineering maintenance budgets 16. Assessing and Implementation of New Projects. PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT 1. You are required to prepare and submit in time monthly report in the defined format relating to your job function. Qualification & Experience 1. Graduated from mechanical or electrical / electronic engineering background with over 15 -20 years solid related working experience SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS 1. Must have worked for Flexible Packaging plant. 2. Hands-on trouble shooting Flexible Packaging machines skill. 3. Up to date knowledge of safety legislation relating to process and packing equipment 4. Electrical and mechanical engineering 5. Troubleshooting skills 6. Problem solving skills 7. Spoken English for business communication. 8. Good communication skills with cross function department. 9. Computer literacy - Skillful in using office software. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Report to Head of Operations.
