15 yearsJob Description : OPERATIONS HEAD UGANDA Roles and Responsibilities Role : · Formulating Sales strategies to drive top-line growth in domestic as well as an export market and prepare innovative plans to achieve higher value realization · Develop sales plans, strategies and policies with a view to increasing/sustain market share and profitability · Have effective implementation and monitoring mechanism to ensure the achievement of the sales plans and strategies. · Scan the environment to understand competitor's activities, demand-supply scenario, regulatory issues to formulate strategies for increasing market share. · Continuously monitor the pricing patterns within the market, checking the prices for the desired products regularly with respect to their competitiveness and value as perceived by the customers, deciding upon pricing from time to time on a need basis to ensure the products are sold with highest recoveries possible · Initiate market intelligence system to provide monthly information to Top Management on potential data, competitors- activities, new product opportunities and other changes in the environment. Key Accountabilities · Working in close coordination with Promoters, the Operations Head will spearhead complete Sales & Operations for the organization for Commodities/FMCG Imports, distribution in Africa through Country Managers, local agro commodities procurement and its exports to India, Vietnam, China etc · Market study of products being imported such as volumes, competitors, exporting country, pricing, clearance cost, sales realization, packaging & warehousing and accounting first hand report of individual country manager before import. · Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedule and other terms to finalize the deal with customers. · Coordinate custom clearance with Country Manager and ensure minimum Turn Around Time for the sales of imported goods · Prepare the P & L statement & annual business plan for complete operations · Analyze scope and opportunities for opening new branches in West African countries. · Manage and motivate Country Managers to always update him on emerging opportunities Desired Candidate Profile · Graduates/Post Graduates with15+ years overall experience out of which 8+ years sales experience in Africa in FMCG and Ago Commodities · Needs to have fair understanding of working culture, client mentality and payment terms · Knowledge of Swahili or French is highly preferable · Should be meticulous planner with clear vision of operational effectiveness in different countries · Must have good interpersonal skills and be a good man manager
