Job Description : PROCUREMENT HEAD MALAYSIA one of the most established global food manufacturing companies based in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will oversee and take the lead in sourcing, negotiating and buying of goods, materials and services for the business’s operational requirements, in line with business targets and strategies. You are also responsible for the ongoing management of purchasing strategy and activity and for ensuring optimal supplier performance and price. Develop and implement a strategy to ensure the function is operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings Drive and oversee contract tender process of various procurement/contract-related goods, services or work projects, including sourcing of suppliers, input and agreement of specification, preparation of tender documentation, liaison and coordination with suppliers to clarify requirements, coordination and evaluation of bids, seek appropriate approval, direct negotiation, agreement of contracts and management and closure of contracts, ensuring that they meet legal, audit, finance/treasury requirements Deliver procurement activities with a standardised process, proactively seeking opportunities to buy efficiently through common procurement routes or approaches to market and opportunities to aggregate requirements across posts and other government partners Build and facilitate strengthening supplier relationships across key and regional suppliers. When necessary, take charge to smoothen and find resolution for contractual disputes, taking appropriate actions to protect the company’s interests. Review, report and manage contract and framework use in the region Lead and manage buyer teams to deliver the appropriate support to the business to ensure corporate and business development objectives are met. Work alongside the senior management team in contributing to overall business objectives Oversee and review/implement "terms and conditions", supplier selection/de-selection, evaluate and rationalise of supply chain solutions including vendor managed inventory, supplier consignments and safety stock Degree holder in economics, business administration and other relevant disciplines Minimum of 10 years of work experience in procurement and/or equivalent roles, with at least five years in an FMCG environment, and three years managing teams Excellent persuader, facilitator and negotiator, and outstanding presenter, with high communication, interpersonal skills Excellent agility with strong abilities to manage complexities, with valued prioritisation Strong project management skills, with the capability to manage large, complex or multiple projects effectively Good understanding of ISO 9000, OSH, HACCP and GMP requirement, is preferred
