Job Description : Commercial Manager (Marketing & Sales) FMCG NIGERIA looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee the marketing and sales activities of their company. The right candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, great leadership and strategic skills and will be up for the challenge of building and making his/her mark on a young and growing organization. Successful execution in this position could lead to senior executive career growth for the right candidate. Your Responsibilities Develop and execute the company’s countrywide sales and marketing strategy across multiple product lines to accelerate its growth on a long-term sustainable basis Build and effectively manage a sales team Develop and ensure the effective execution of appropriate route to market/route to consumer strategies Develop and oversee the execution of innovative and cost-effective marketing strategies to increase customer awareness of our brands, and motivate/incentivize our channel partners. Create an efficient reporting structure and follow up actions required. Create and manage a comprehensive database of all customers and channel partners that enables the company to analyse and act on the data therein to increase sales and profitability and strengthen customer relationships Establish and manage key accounts, understand customers’ requirements and ensure they are being met. Work closely with other members of management to develop and monitor budgets and to set multi-year strategic plans. Prepare and submit periodic reports and set and track performance metrics Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.) Your Skills & Experience Proven experience in a sales and marketing in a large FMCG company operating in Nigeria Demonstrable track record of successfully launching, growing and managing brands in the general and modern trade Operated in a number of regions and have strong knowledge of and have relationships with key customers within key FMCG markets across the country Proven experience managing relationships with key clients In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis You have solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset You have excellent organizational, leadership and performance management skills You have outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities You combine solid field experience with the ability to see the big picture and have a strategic mindset You are a builder and look forward to the potential to make an impact and leave your mark on a young and growing company Your Background 18+ years in FMCG sales and marketing in Nigeria BSc/BA in business administration, marketing or relevant field; MBA or MSc/MA is a plus
