15 yearsJob Description : SAP Project Manager (Mining / Implementation / Agile / IT / Integration / Tracking) – DRC, Job Description: Our client is an international mining service provider who is seeking a SAP Project Manager, who will be responsible for the SAP implementation projects including integration points with other enterprise efforts. The ideal incumbent will be responsible for all aspects of the project including the schedule, budget, status report, issue tracking, and project communications. They will also be responsible for providing leadership to the project team, the incumbent will report directly to the Head of the IT Function and, indirectly to the Finance Director who is the champion of the SAP implementation project. Responsibilities: · Define the appropriate delivery model for customer project as a composition of pre-defined services, on-site and/or remote delivery · Scope and estimate the engagement · Determine the required resources for the project, understand and be able to deliver according to the SAP delivery models. · Assess, document, and communicate risk for the engagement wherever applicable · Position SAP delivery methodology – SAP Activate in the engagement. · Conduct project planning activities and manage the execution of projects according to plan · Manage relationship with project stakeholders, including internal and external clients, keeping stakeholders informed of progress, risks and issues in order to manage expectations on all project requirements and deliverables. · Manage and communicate a clear vision of the project’s objectives, and motivate the project team to achieve them; create a project environment that enables peak performance by team members · Ensures proper governance is in place to best meet project objectives · Balance the trade-off of the triple-constraint (time, cost, and scope) to realize the expected business value · Proactively identify changes in work scope and ensure appropriate planning measures are taken with internal and external stakeholders to reassess and amend the scope of work requirements, budget, and timeline. · Manage the financial aspects of the project: budgeting and estimate to actual variance. · Analyze risk, establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibilities for initiating mitigating action. · Determine what constitutes successful closure for all parties. Gain acceptance and sign-off by all parties when the closure is attained. · Proactively manage project stakeholder satisfaction to position and secure customer reference and success story. · Coach to clarify assignments and deliverables to project team; review the quality of work and manage the integration of team members’ work; provide performance input to project team members’ functional management. · Responsible for the training of SAP users upon commissioning of the project · Takes responsibility from time to time as team lead and supports respective line manager(s) in people development tasks. · Responsible for tracking key project activities at a detailed level including administrative items associated with a complex technical SAP deployment · Promote and sustain a culture of ethics throughout the organization · Ability to resolve the cause of technology challenges, and keep the business current with industry standards Primary Project: · Lead a diverse team in the implementation of the S/4 HANA for mining (vanilla) for the modules, namely: FICO, MM, PM, PP, PS, SD, bulk transportation, commodity management and payroll · Liaise and engage with the company’s resources team as well as the appointed vendor/s required for the SAP implementation · Responsible for the sites project management by defining the scope of work for the project, prepare and co-ordinate daily and monthly schedules against the plan and cost budgets. · Plan training for all SAP users ensuring smooth implementation of all modules into the operations. Competencies Expected: · Direct experience managing SAP projects – S/4 project experience is an asset · Working knowledge of current SAP Project Management methodologies including the SAP Activate methodology (AGILE) · Deep knowledge and understanding of SAP tool sets, project management approaches, tools, and techniques for gaining the cooperation and support of stakeholders. · Utilizes the information in Clarity/Open Workbench as part of a tool kit that communicates status based on the needs of the project. · Prior experience with Clarity/Open Workbench tool to determine how the intersection of multiple projects impact the critical path, baseline, resource constraints, costs and budget of the team. · Able to model different mitigation plans in the Clarity/Open Workbench tool and make and recommendations. · Able to extract the information from the Clarity/Open Workbench tool to analyze intersecting projects and team level allocations. · Understands when to use MS Project data to supplement the Clarity data. · Prepares a complex schedule within MS Project and manages timelines within tool. · Able to use communication features such as Timeline, Gantt charts, etc. for stakeholder updates when needed. · Can use Outlook to schedule meetings with internal and external resources in multiple locations. · When needed, utilizes the information in MS Excel as part of a tool kit that communicates project level information based on the needs of the project. · Within MS Excel works with multiple worksheets, filters data, functions, pivot tables. · Able to create presentations in MS PowerPoint to present complex ideas in a way that is easily understood by the team. · Able to create documents in MS Word to present complex ideas in a way that is easily understood by the team. · Able to create diagrams in MS Visio to present complex ideas in a way that is easily understood by the team. Requirements: Qualification and Skill · Previous expat experience · Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience with SAP certification. · Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is desired. · PRINCE 2 / Project Management Professional (PMP) / Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or SAFe-certified would be advantageous · 15+ years of IT work experience, including 7 or more years of managing projects · 7 – 10 years demonstrated SAP implementation experience · Strong mining industry experience · Experience working in Software product development projects using traditional as well as Agile methodologies · Knowledge and experience on SAP HANA/SAP Cloud Platform/S4 HANA · Proficiency in French would be advantageous Benefits and Contractual information: · 10/3 roster · Permanent position
