General Manager Supply Chain

Job Description : GM -SCM / Procurement Industry : Cement (Prefer candidate from Cement Industry Only) Qualification : BE/B. Tech Mechanical / MBA + Additional Degree in Materials/Purchase as Added Advantage. Reports to : CEO & Managing Director Reportees to role : 6-7 Location : Jamnagar -Gujarat Experience Range : more than 20 years, preferably in cement industry Job Role : Procurement Having overall supervision and control of Procurement / SCM Dept of Company Managing receipt & execution of Purchase requisition Overall control on purchase of different engineering items, spare parts, mechanical, electrical items etc. locally and across PAN India as well. Floating of Inquiries and getting quotations Overall control on Vendor comparison based on quality & price Supplier Negotiation and Order Placing and PO Closure Contract Management Overall control on finalizing Service orders and annual contracts Finalizing and closing contracts in coordination with Final and Legal Dept. Inventory Management Keeping control on stock of inventory and planning purchase of regular items Maintaining inventory in stores as per ISO and review accordingly to avoid unnecessary material withholding. Regularly review with Stores to maintain minimum maximum level of critical items Vendor Management Supplier negotiations for a good deal Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery of material and avoid delay Maintaining good relations with suppliers for long term association Vendor Development Continuously searching and generating OEM vendors. New vendor evolution and development process Coordination, MIS & Documentation ISO documentation for Purchase department Reports for vendor evaluation and compare vendor performance. Regular communication with users about indent status and cancellation of requests to avoid unnecessary procurement Collecting maximum information of material having higher cost value and market evolution Coordinate with Accounts to avoid delay in material delivery as well as supplier payment.
