20 yearsJob Description : Director Of Sales & BD - Sweet & Confectionery - California, United States Job Purpose To deliver annual targets through the effective management of a designated territory of customers. Drive business growth through the development of customer relationships whilst building development relationships with new customers Key Responsibilities Effective management of a designated territory of customers to deliver margin and volume growth whilst driving continuous improvement in Customer Service Ensures effective management of an existing designated territory of customers including pricing and margin management, customer trials, service levels and complaint resolution Ensures continued development of new business pipeline with clearly reported Business Opportunity pipeline Qualifications and Experience Significant sales experience in the food sector Experience of multiple product / portfolio selling Understanding of P&L and Balance sheet Negotiation experience Project management experience; product development, customer and supplier Desirable FMCG Sweets/Confectionary/ Bakery (including Commodities) Degree or equivalent Experience of using SAP/ERP systems Ensure s promotional activity is implemented and that products are on display in the correct location and with good availability. Providing insightful and actionable market intelligence feedback. Distributor Management •Grow foodservice volume in the designated region through management of broad-line distributors. •Establish an annual business plan with distributors based on the strategic priorities and goals from Headquarter Sales Group. •Develop processes and communication practices with distribution management to achieve goals. Distributor Structure Expert •Identify and navigate hierarchy, systems, and personnel within each distributor location including Account Executives, District Sales Managers, and Distributor Sales Representatives •Engage each distributor's leadership team through Director and VP level Business Intelligence •Maintain working knowledge of key systems for product and POS delivery, results reporting, and market management •Manage KPI results on a monthly basis and meets with teams to review results and plan •Volume forecasting per distributor location with national volume goals set by HQ.
