Finance Director

Job Description : FINANCE DIRECTOR HOLLAND uniQure (Bio-tech) is looking for a Finance Director. Do you like to work team based and bring the team and the organisation to the next level? I am looking for someone with an audit background and business experience who is fluent in English and has worked with external authorities in the Netherlands. uniQure is a leader in the field of gene therapy, advancing a focused pipeline of innovative gene therapies, including product candidates for the treatment of hemophilia B and Huntingtons disease. uniQures technology platform and manufacturing capabilities provide it with distinct competitive advantages, including the potential to reduce development risk, cost, and time to market. uniQure produces its Adeno-associated virus-based gene therapies in its own facilities with a proprietary, commercial-scale, current good manufacturing practices -compliant, manufacturing process. uniQure is a fast-paced environment that is constantly evolving. We are implementing new systems, accelerating the growth of the organization and constantly looking for ways to improve our back-office operations. The Finance Director is the focal point for all site related finance matters (month-end closing process, payroll, tax-returns...). The Finance Director is responsible to manage the Dutch finance staff and is accountable for driving the month-end closing process of the Dutch uniQure legal entities in a SoX compliant manner as well as to partner with corporate finance staff. Manage and oversee the Amsterdam financial accounting/financial controlling team (currently 5 FTE); Direct month-end close and ensure SoX-compliance of processes; Business partner with IT and operations to prepare the ERP systems and applications as well as finance processes to be ready to operate as commercial-scale company by early 2022; Oversees the maintenance and adaptation of systems, controls, procedures and policies that ensure the integrity of all financial systems, processes and data; Assure adherence to US Generally Accepted Accounting Policies. Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with Director Financial Reporting; Serve as focal point for external auditors for audit of Dutch accounts; Filing of Dutch tax returns and statutory financial statements; Support annual insurance reviews (health and site liability, et al); Filing economic/Financial data for statistical purposes. At least 18years in Big 4 auditor role and/or senior financial accounting role including at the minimum three years of managerial experience; RA or similar qualification and at the minimum a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; Fluent in English and command of Dutch and experience in healthcare sectors are a plus; Sound experience with SoX; Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or GAAP; Experience with ERP systems and applications. Ability to lead and develop team Strong organizational and planning skills; Personal effectiveness and credibility; Good communication skills.
