Managing Director

Job Description : MD UGANDA The Managing Director (MD) will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the business and for providing strategic leadership for the Company and its staff to ensure overall objectives are achieved. The MD will work closely with and under the direct supervision of the Board of Directors of the Company. The MD will liaise with key stakeholders who include finance partners (shareholders and debenture noteholders), the local government, Government ministries, and regulatory bodies. The MD will manage all issues, analyze problems and identify and implement solutions as they arise.The MD will be responsible for steering the company, at all times, in the agreed strategic direction. The MD’s goal is to ensure that the Company meets its short-term and long-term objectives, ensuring the achievement of various stakeholder goals and objectives including increasing shareholder value. REQUIREMENTS At least 10 years’ experience leading teams of varied professionals. At least 3 years’ experience working with and reporting to the Board of Directors. Experience supervising and/or managing utility operations. Experience working with both Public and Private sector finance institutions. Experience working with government agencies including local government, ministries, and regulatory bodies Must hold at least a bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, or Management from a reputable institution. An advanced degree in any of the mentioned fields and membership to a professional body will be an added advantage. Experience managing budgets is a definite advantage The duty station will be upcountry with frequent travel to Kampala.
