Chief Financial Officer 
25 yearsJob Description : CFO CANADA Reporting to the President and CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key strategic member of the management team and will be responsible for adding direct value to the business through the implementation of a financial strategic plan and vision. The CFO will be responsible for leading the finance, accounting, and cash management strategies and functions for the company while maintaining best practices in those areas. The CFO will be trusted for their financial expertise and relied upon for their participation and insights into the overall strategy and operations of the company. The individual within this position must be able to oversee the Finance, Accounting, HR, and I.T. departments, and have exceptional leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, and managerial skills that build trust and confidence. The individual will be a strategic thought leader, anticipating opportunities as well as risks, and can make decisions and accommodate change in both an independent and collaborative manner. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Accounting and Finance Overall responsibility for financial reporting, including year-end reporting and corporate compliance, as well as effective audit controls Responsible for annual corporate budgets Financial review of project specific budgets, cashflow and projection reporting Leads the financing and cash management strategies and functions Appraises the financial position and provides strategic advice to senior management Short and long-range business plans, including projections of taxable income and recommended tax strategies Negotiate loan and leasing agreements Maintain effective working relationships with banking institutions Overall responsibility for all process improvement projects related to finance, accounting and I.T. Responsible for corporate insurance including business, liability, property and equipment Other projects as assigned by the President, and Management team Strategic and People Leadership Establishes short- and long-term goals to achieve strategies, integrates plans into the division and the organization and ensures programs and policies are in alignment with organizational goals Leads, directs, and monitors change management strategies/plans to support and align to divisional and corporate strategies and to gain acceptance of divisional strategies by other business areas and partners. Builds a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies, ensuring integration with employee performance development and career development plans. Drives performance through team members and is committed to leadership development across the company, supporting employees and workforce readiness through involvement in the recruitment process, mentoring, training and developmental opportunities and builds technical expertise of team. Hires, trains, develops, and manages all direct reports in finance, accounting, and HR and sets standards for performance; assesses performance and provides feedback on a regular basis EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS As part of the management team, you will have demonstrated success in leading, developing and enhancing financial strategies. You will also possess a collaborative leadership style and have demonstrated the skills, the drive, and the commitment to support employees in all areas and lead the team through change. The successful candidate must be a designated professional (CPA) with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience. Your professional history will include a proven track record of successfully managing a team with diverse experience, styles, and backgrounds. Knowledge and a demonstrated background in retail or wholesale/distribution would be an asset. Additional Requirements As a member of the management team, the CFO is responsible for ensuring that the organization maintains a viable financial position. Given the President will be relying on the technical skills and experience of the incumbent in this role, candidates must be able to demonstrate the following skills and qualifications: Proven ability to develop strong relationships based on trust and integrity Experience developing and implementing systems, processes, and procedures Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills Ability to recognize and communicate opportunities for efficiencies and implement new processes Excellent understanding of financial management, reporting, and bank negotiations Exceptional communication with strong verbal/written skills and a willingness to share information Collaborative approach, strong team leader, and partner to the business Strong entrepreneurial mindset Impeccable sense of integrity and flexible character with proven ability to work proficiently with a diverse group of personalities This role will appeal to an individual who possesses outstanding communication skills and strong leadership capabilities while maintaining an excellent eye for detail.
