Job Description : Head of Marketing, Tanzania for one of the leading multinational FMCG company in Africa. Position is based in Tanzania. Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed: Graduate degree preferably in marketing/business related discipline. Over 8 years Brand / Category Management experience preferably within FMCG. NPD Project Management experience Key Responsibilities: 1) Create, develop and implement category strategies to support the overall business strategy 2) Ensure the consumer is central to business strategy and decisions by providing periodic and relevant consumer insights / trends, including influencing other functions to align with consumer story 3) Initiate the NPD process ensuring that the NPI process requirements are managed and delivered according to targets (360 degree marketing) 4) Ensure category pricing supports brand positioning and is relevant to the competitive arena 5) Work together with Sales and Channel teams to select appropriate trade channels to deliver brand objectives 6) Drive delivery of overall budgeted profitability by growing and sustaining high margin brands / skus within the categories 7) Monitor, control and report category performance through brand health indicators such as NNS, GM, MC & key consumer KPIs and providing solutions to shortfalls 8) Coach, manage and develop high performance teams, including sourcing for appropriate marketing talents to fill all defined roles 9) Proactively feed into and follow up on actions from the Business Planning process. Key Accountabilities: 1) Quarterly and periodic tracking / update of consumer insight measures 2) Quarterly and periodic tracking / update of market intelligence / information including own and all key competitors 3) Annual category / brand plans and to be reviewed periodically to align with business realities /exigencies 4) Regular tracking of all marketing spends and resources i.e. premium, billboards, advert executions etc. and ensuring full compliance with all SOP’s including system (SAP) compliance 5) Achieve all defined all internal performance measures – brand profitability, growth in consumer pack segment, prudent product / portfolio management etc.
